I came expecting a decent lunch after golf and instead found myself contemplating whether I should order a second one before I’d even finished the first.

No forced smiles, no robotic speeches, just good people making sure you have everything you need while you sit there grinning like you’ve stumbled onto buried treasure.

Between the spectacular setting at Pole Creek, the outstanding food, and service that never misses a beat, this place deserves every one of its five stars. “Heck’s was absolutely amazing. We dined multiple times during our stay. We loved the cocktails, dessert, and the views. Enjoying a night cap with beers and s’mores bread pudding was to die for! Then for a lunch after the spa indulged in their local wagyu ground beef with a burger and the patty melt. Even the fresh diverse lemonade was such a special treat to cap off our relaxing afternoon at lunch. The accessible board games make an evening even more fun. From the life music to great staff you can’t go wrong with Heck’s Tavern.”

“Oh my word! This place is by far the BEST pizza I have EVER had! Simply amazing! We stopped here with our kids on summer vacation and are planning to eat here again before heading home. The service and atmosphere were superb. Do yourself a favor and go see Zappa! Tell him Amanda sent you! :)”

“Delightful bakery! We had a bakers dozen of a mix of sweet treats. Loved that the person behind the counter also offered up a great suggestion of a local trail. We got the tip that the cinnamon roll was the most popular item followed by the scone. We also tried a selection of donuts, turnovers and croissants. We heard the sandwich/burritos were also popular.”

“To start their was some confusion with getting 9 seated. They got it figured out and all worked out just fine. However, if it wasn’t a weeknight I do not think it would have been possible. We ordered ahi tuna ceviche, lobster tacos and surf + turf tacos …. Everyone really enjoyed. Strawberry Fresca was delicious (nice to have a yummy drink option that’s non alcoholic). No kids menu but waiter was super accommodating, recommended less spicy menu items, and even made some chicken tenders for part of our group. Will definitely come back.”

“I wish I could give Idlewild 10 stars! Best vegan food we have had in a while! We got the shishito peppers, the vegan sliders, the vegan ravioli, and the vegan chocolate mousse. The chef is vegan and even came out to greet us! We also got several drinks, my husband got alcoholic mixed drinks and I got their mocktails. All of the drinks were super good! The vibe was super cool as well! Best place to eat in Grand County! We will definitely be back!”
