“I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant so I finally tried it tonight. I ordered takeout and it was one of the best pasta dinners I ever had. The portion was big I have lunch for tomorrow. The price was also reasonable especially for seafood. Definitely will be ordering from here more.”

“I was given a Groupon as a gift to go here and was pleasantly pleased! Our waitress was so attentive and everything form the Bread (with soft butter! I hate when it is still hard it was perfect!) the salad was very fresh and we both chose the Chicken Cacciatore which was so good! The place is cute and very clean! “I came in today placed my order with the store manager I got my food and left I was disappointed with some of the food quality and temperature I phoned the manager she was a very kind, calm, and well collected person. She addressed my concerns with action, making it convenient and helpful for me to get a good experience next time issuing a free meal equal to the value on my last order. That's proper store management, this is someone I'd like to think as an asset to this buisness good work Gladys ?. “Had to rub my eyes to make sure that I was in New Haven because this restaurant stepped right out of Manhattan. Each dish we enjoyed was recommended by our sever as was the fabulous wine too. The chef introduced himself before seating and checked with us just as our larger plate arrived. He added very much to the overall ambiance.”

“I have been here 5 times now both pick up and sit down. The food has been amazing and the atmosphere is great. The inside is very very clean. I do not like writing negative reviews however the service in person is great but over the phone 1 star would be to much. Both times i ordered over the phone it was very very rushed and I could hardly get a question in. This most recent time the phone call was so rushed and with the language barrier we misunderstood each other. I know that can happen and it is what it is. When i showed up i noticed my order had additional items that i did not ask for. When I told the gentleman i did not ask for them I got the worst attitude and he got so mad. When i said I'm not sure what happened but sorry he snapped at me saying I should have listened better. Normally I would have said whatever and taken the additional items if they are small however it was 3 more things of ramen. I still tipped 20% because maybe he was having a bad day and not tipping is just rude. When he came back after he removed the other items my food was basically thrown at me. I didn't check it and when i got home one of the lids was off and half of the broth leaked out. I was really enjoying a ramen place being so close and i was sending all my friends there. However reguardless of how good their dumplings are i may just drive the extra 20 minutes somewhere else.”

“Olea, is a top tier restaurant, creative and exciting yet grounded in the Spanish way. The drinks were very good I had the signature Manhattan. For appetizer the ceviche mixto was amazing, originally thrown off my the red sauce but WOW it was such a compliment to the lemon and seafood. My main meal was the fish of the day (Black Sea bass) and it was cooked to perfection and placed on butter beans and a mild yet appealing salsa verde. Food was on par for a great restaurant in any major city. We are so happy to have one of this caliber so close to home.”

“This was my first time having Costa Rican food, and I was thoroughly impressed! As soon as we walked in, service was friendly and welcoming. I went to wash my hands, and the restroom was immaculate. In terms of the food, everything was fresh and flavorful. I got the Chiflijos, which is fried crispy pork belly with rice, beans, avocado, pico de gallo, and tortilla chips. My girlfriend got the Casado which was stewed chicken with rice, beans, sweet plantains, beet/potato salad, and a fried egg on top. The serving sizes were generous and great for the price. When it came to dessert, we couldn't decide between the pistachio cake and the cassava cake. We ultimately decided on the Cassava Cake, but our server also gave us a small piece of the pistachio cake to try. So kind of her. The pistachio cake was sweet, with a tender crumb, but not cloyingly sweet. The cassava cake was the real star! Served warm, with notes of earthy cassava, coconut, and a caramelized top, it was the perfect way to end our meal. We wish them much success, and would love to return to try more things on the menu.”

“Living so close to Sultan’s and driving by for over a decade, I always wondered what it was like. We finally went for dinner and the belly dancing show, and our expectations were exceeded! Everything was absolutely incredible here - their menu is huge, the staff was knowledgeable about the food and very friendly, and the food came out quickly despite how packed they were with multiple large parties. I thought the lamb kofte was so tender and perfectly cooked. You have to order the mixed cold dips platter too! The belly dancing show was so fun to watch, and we had such a great time that we decided to bring my grandfather here 2 weeks later for his birthday. All we can say is we can’t believe we hadn’t visited sooner! We will definitely be regulars now.”

“I am an active duty Navy Chaplain currently at Naval Station Newport, and I recently ordered a Shabbat meal from Ladle and Loaf. Benny and his team did a phenomenal job getting our order ready. They were more than happy to prepare us a meal so we could celebrate Shabbat with our fellow Jewish Chaplain. Not only was the food delicious, but Benny went above and beyond to make sure that all Kosher rules were followed so our Chaplain could eat the meal. Not only that, Benny sent the order over two hours away by driver to our base, at no cost to us. This kind of service is truly exceptional. He messaged me to make sure that the meal arrived, and was so kind. We are truly grateful for this amazing service, and hospitality so we could enjoy a Shabbat meal on base in fellowship with one another. “What a great meal! Came here because we were on the way to get donuts at Brooklyn Baking Co and missed their breakfast timing - so glad we did! Had the Irish Benny - AMAZING corned beef hash, perfect eggs and sauce!!! Fluffy pancakes too and my boyfriend enjoyed the waffles - "real syrup and fresh, fresh fruit!" I had planned to order an omelette as I have a gluten allergy, but didn’t realize that breakfast hours had ended. Although breakfast had ended, the gentleman at the counter was kind enough to put in my order. My Western omelette was delicious and I am so impressed with their customer service! We came within the first couple of months of it opening and now it's become my new favorite Indian restaurant in New Haven, topping other New Haven household names like House of Naan, Sherkaan, and Zaroka's. === [FOOD: 9/10] === The garlic and garlic cheese naans are BOMB. The cheese is gooey and pairs perfectly with any of their curries. Their dosa is HUGE. Samosas are super tasty: the right amount of crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. Portions are perfect and everything comes out piping hot! Mango lassi is sweet and not too yogurt-y. Only thing I don't love is that the chutneys are very watered down, but the flavor is definitely there. === [VIBES: 7/10] === Our service was average, nothing super notable. They played some lit Bollywood / S. Asian music and had some cute decor for Valentine's day. Cutlery and plates were a classy copper tone. It's not usually too packed when we go, but traffic here is definitely creeping up every time I stop by. I cannot wait for this place to pop off because they totally deserve it. “Visited here for the first time today for lunch. We were craving burgers and wanted to go somewhere local. They did not disappoint! From the first bite, it was clear they made the burgers from scratch. The burger meat itself was flavorful, not just bland. The fries were also so good, perfect blend of crunch and smoosh. My husband got a shake and really enjoyed it. We also got a cupcake for our daughter, which she said was absolutely delicious. They shared that they support another local small business by displaying their cupcakes for sale. Will definitely go back next time we're in the area.”
