“As an event coordinator for our program, I had the pleasure of working with Milton from Jamaican Kitchen to cater a meeting we hosted in December for 55 attendees in Hamden. Although the nearest Jamaican Kitchen location was in Bristol, Milton kindly agreed to deliver the order to Hamden, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Having previously enjoyed their delicious food for a smaller group at the Hartford location, I knew Jamaican Kitchen would be an excellent choice. Milton was instrumental in helping me design a menu that fit within our budget while addressing the dietary restrictions of some attendees. The menu included rice and beans, steamed cabbage salad, sweet plantains, mini cocktail chicken and beef patties, jerk chicken, and vegetarian stew. Milton delivered the meal ahead of schedule, and everything arrived warm, neatly packaged, and clearly labeled—making service seamless. His professionalism, positive attitude, and responsiveness to my various inquiries made the entire experience stress-free. The attendees were thrilled with the meal, with particular praise for the cocktail patties. If you are looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine, exceptional service, and a reliable caterer, I highly recommend Milton and Jamaican Kitchen.”

“Oh my god. The food is so good. The parking is horrible however the food more than makes up for it. We had trouble getting here since they opened but finally could and I'm so mad we waited to come here so long. Being vegetarian it's hard to find good food that isn't boring. Problem forever solved here. Husband and I both got the vegetable Pad See Ew. It's amazing. I couldn't stop eating it and pretty much inhaled the food it's that good. The portions are generous and even with as much as I ate I slowed down and had to bring some home. As for the restaurant itself, at the time we went it's very sensory friendly for autistic people like me. The music is nice and muted. The colors are dark and comfortable. The chairs are comfy. The lighting it dim and warm. No real sounds from the kitchen. Of course we went and were the only people there because we eat early, but it was perfect for me and for us in general. Definitely will be back. So many good things to try!”

“With warm weather in June, we sat outside on The Oak Patio to watch musician Timmy Maia cover well-known songs. The Oak Patio serves the TimeOut Sports & Pizza Bar menu which includes usual pub fare such as burgers, gourmet pizza, appetizers, salads and sandwiches plus a few high end dinners. Full bar with craft beers in addition to a good selection of wine. Arrive early if you want to sit in the comfortable sectional and seatings in front of the stage inside the fenced in area. Our friends got there an hour before the show and we still could only be seated at a table for four outside the fence, which allows diners to see the entertainment but through the iron bars.All of our food and drinks were very good and served in a timely manner: coconut shrimp, calamari and nachos for starters. Kobe burger with bacon and fried egg; French dip handheld sandwich with sliced beef, cheddar and au jus; Jerry Pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni.My partner, an old friend of Timmy's wanted to say hi during intermission so we went through the lobby of the Doubletree hotel by Hilton Hotel where this venue is located in Bristol, and went inside the enclosure so they could shake hands, catch up and take some photos. It's a nice place to get out and have a meal with or without a band. There's a lot of greenery, palms, plants and white lights under a white tented roof for the enclosed main area.”

They are very friendly and welcoming when you pick up your food . I always ask for my chicken wings to be extra crunchy and they do it . Also you can see in the back which looks cleaner than most to me .”

“Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1”

“Well the atmosphere is ok even thought it looks like from the ghetto still that fried chicken taste real good which went last week didn’t know there was one in Bristol. Love the biscuit and in the future will go again. The owner was very professional. The lady behind the counter was nice but needs to smile at least for the customers. Coupon users - heads up and this is why I gave a 4*..it says on the coupons that it Excludes the following: Sidekicks, Monster, MexiCali, Beast and Garlic Roast Beef…at this establishment and apparently the one on Farmington Ave (which told me I can get anything that’s not listed on the coupon) you are only allowed a choice of 5 sandwiches..Tuna, Turkey, Meatball, Veggie and another one…mind you, the Turkey Club is 12.49 for a footlong and say the outlaw is 13.49. His words were “we lose money if we don’t limit what people can get as far as steaks and chicken”….i get it, you’re in business..you have costs and overhead..but still, is $1 gonna break the bank..either way, good experience.
Sandwich build - meatball..wanted untoasted, and was how I asked…could’ve used a bit more black olives, but no complaints. Turkey Club..same, was how I asked and came with a healthy portion of toppings.
Chicken Footlong Sidekick - was good..one side seemed burnt while other side seemed uncooked…gave me a cup of honey mustard as asked (was told I could get another sauce or could get another one).
I’ll go back again sometime to try again..I’m just never on that side of town…but there’s a ton of sandwich shops and delis in the area too.
On a scale of 1-5…I’d say a 4.1 is about right for the reviews.”

The five-star rating for this location is solely due to Kourtney's service. Management's lack of adequate staffing and support for employees warrants a zero-star rating. “I work near by and i come here for lunch on break and the laddies and gentlemen here always give me hands down the best customer service, today i witnessed a customer come in and berate the staff and they handled her professionally and gracefully, I just want to thank the staff for being so kind to everyone no matter who the customer is, they don’t deserve to be yelled at and they were so graceful with the irate customer, MAJOR props to the staff here.
