“Tried Lou's for catering the first time this Christmas. Everything was chaotic (as holidays can be) for myself and I had mistakenly overlooked a very important tray of chicken francese that our very picky daughter had requested. I didn't realize this though, until the day of pick up, Christmas Eve. I frantically called Lou and he went absolutely above and beyond. He cooked a tray for us by that afternoon. How does an experience get better? Every single dish was absolutely delicious. Everyone that was at our gathering made a point to comment on how amazing it all was. If I could leave ten stars I would. Slam dunk!“

“We ordered catering trays for our Christmas Eve family get together. I can only say that the food and the service in ordering and pick up was exceptionally good. Fanny did a wonderful job with providing delicious food for us to all enjoy . Each order was attractive, definitely enough for us and leftovers, and perfection.“

It's inside a building, in the basement, and what I liked most was the vibe of the place. Simple with a sandwich on the impeccable bagel, not to mention the excellent service they provided to us. “When I discovered Roxbury Market in the eighties, it soon became one of my favorite destinations. I lived in Bethel, but I’d drive up to Roxbury several times a week for sandwiches. It was remodeled sometime in the nineties, and the small back room had tables to enjoy meals with friends. We’d meet there by Jeep, motorcycle, or whatever and sit for an hour sharing a great sandwich, coffee and soft drinks. I moved to Florida in 2004 and miss the Marketplace. But we manage to visit at least once a year when we come back to Roxbury in autumn.“

“We moved into the area about a month ago and tried this place recently. The place has been here a long time but it looks like a hole in the wall sort of place.
We went for lunch. Sandwhiches were pretty good and reasonable. Just not something I would personally go out of my way for. I'm still exploring the area so I may come back down the line.“

“I ate here today with my husband. This was a random choice on the way to somewhere else. The bathroom was VERY VERY clean and just coming off of the road, I truly appreciated this. There are sturdy and comfortable tables and chairs and the door was open to a nice breeze with fans. Everybody was friendly. The food was good! Even though the avocados were not ripe enough to serve, I truly enjoyed my breakfast burrito without them. The burrito was really satisfying and made with care. My husband enjoyed his ham and cheese. Also, the prices were great. I saw on Google that the name of the place, Quisqueya, means “cradle of life" -- I felt the deep vibe of this open hearted place as soon as I walked in. I hope I can happen by again. PS: The thing with avocados not being ripe enough to serve has happened many other places this year -- it's just a thing that is happening these days....“
