“Hungry after a few hours at Gillette Castle, we were looking for lunch/dinner. We had a wonderful experience at Pattaconk! Our waitress was friendly and attentive to my dietary needs (Celiac’s). We had a burger, quesadilla & Nashville chicken stripes. My burger had a gf bun & was delicious, husb & daughter loved the stripes & quesadilla. Restaurant had a nice, chill atmosphere, everyone enjoying drinks & food. We will be back when out in the area.“
“Excellent coffee and bagels. Top notch service. The owners and staff couldn’t be friendlier. If you’re near Westbrook looking for a coffee shop, I fully recommend Julie’s Cup of Joe!“

“Came here for the first time today. I've been wanting to try for awhile. Amazing place. Love the menu! So many different things to choose from. Tons of veggie options. I had a veggie melt with broccoli, eggplant, onions, sundried tomatoes and cheese. It was amazing! If you haven't been, great eats for breakfast and lunch!“

“Chelsea and Dave are wonderful owners. They really take time to know their customers and make sure they are happy. I have celiac disease so they are very good when it comes to helping with what I can and can't eat. All their Italian ice are gluten free and and soft serve ice cream is as well. Great people great place. Oh and they also have pup cups which my dog gives 2 paws up :)“
“Myrcene is a hidden gem within Old Saybrook! We recently hosted a graduation party here with about 50 guests and it was the PERFECT spot to host a party. The owners are incredibly kind, welcoming, and accommodating. They kept all of their delicious beers, wines, ciders and seltzers flowing for our guests and allowed us to bring in our own food and desserts (this was a game changer for us when looking for a spot to host a party locally). From the time we set up to the time we cleaned up the owners offered to help and were always there to see if we needed anything. The inside space is perfect for a gathering, plus they have a wonderful outside space too for guests to sit and relax and play lawn games. I can’t recommend them enough for your next party or just for a local meet up with friends and family for a delicious drink!“

Not only do they have brunch service, pastry counter, and coffees, they have a lot of specialty grocery items that are nicely curated and add to the vibe while you’re eating. Our waitresses were very attentive and knowledgeable. Boursin omelette was amazing, and we will definitely be back for more pastries!!!“

“Sip Wine Bar stands out as a unique and memorable spot in Old Saybrook. What makes it truly special is Derrik, a certified Sommelier who brings a rare level of passion and expertise to the table. He doesn’t just recommend wine—he creates a tailored journey based on your palate and interests. The opportunity to taste reserve wines is a standout feature and adds a level of exclusivity that’s hard to come by. Derrik’s skill in pairing wines with meats and cheeses is impressive and turns a simple tasting into a full sensory experience. The menu is clear, inviting, and easy to navigate, making it approachable for all levels of wine knowledge. Whether you're dropping in for a casual glass or diving deep into the world of wine, Sip delivers something far beyond the ordinary. A fantastic addition to the Old Saybrook scene—Sip isn’t just a place to drink wine; it’s a place to enjoy it with intention.“

“The fruit and vegetable wines tend to be on the sweeter side. The tasting room is small and connects to a green house with flowers and flower baskets. In the tasting room you will also find various jams and sauces from the farm. All the people were kind and helpful.Wine Review:My wife really liked the rhubarb wine. Most rhubarb wines (mine included) are pink in color. Not Staehly's. Their rhubarb was greener, sweet, with a sativa or indica aroma and taste. It was interesting, but not off-putting.There are a number of fruit wines, most of which are a little on sweet side, even if they claimed the wine was dry. Alcohol level was around 10% for these wines. As a home wine maker, I typically aim for dry wines. If I want to sweeting the wine, I add about 5 ml of a Moscato wine to give it the aromas and sweetness while keeping the wine dry.“

“The three of us had sandwiches. The salmon and the cheeseburger. Rolls were actually greasy. Hamburger was greasy and the salmon was mushy. We've been here several times before and really enjoyed it. We will most likely come on another day besides Sunday. If you're not getting the brunch the food doesn't seem to be up to usual standards.“
