She arrive early, had 8 trays step up in minutes, gave us a full run down on how long to keep the burners running so the the food would be ready for our guest and wouldn't burn. “Exceeded my expectations! I ordered through door dash and was so happy with the quality considering it was delivery. The salsa tasted so fresh and the chips are definitely homemade. They tasted like they'd just come out the fryer after 30 sec in the microwave. For my entree I got the Chicken Burrito which was amazing. It had so much flavor and was huge. Half of it is plenty to fill even the biggest appetite. I will definitely order from here again!“

“Our server was excellent. It was LOUD. Granted it was a Friday night, but even so, the place was incredibly loud. We only had just four people, and still all of us had trouble hearing one another. They should really put stuff on the walls to absorb the sound. (And they could put beautiful Mexican fabrics up, win/win.) Appetizers we good, but not great, but we all liked our entrees. “It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“

“I see this truck every day super early in the morning 7:45am and on the way home from work 6pm so I decided to try him out. Got the Lengua tacos and they were really good and inexpensive ($2 each). The guy was really nice and the food was prepared quickly. Can’t wait to try his other Mexican fare!

Edit… this morning gps took me by the La Chaupa, so I stopped for breakfast and got the breakfast burrito. This things was huge and delicious for $10. It had chorizo, eggs, cheese, lettuce, tomato cilantro possible some other ingredients as well. I’m stuffed!“

“I asked Juan to provide his food cart for the Yale student record label’s Spring Concert. Juan was very friendly and helpful and dedicated to making my outdoor event work, even in the rain! He made wonderful food and kept the guests at our concert fed and happy. Could not be more satisfied with Taquería Juanchos Guacamoles and the wonderful people who run it.“

“We loved this place when it first opened, but it seems like it’s under new ownership. It’s not necessarily “bad” now, but they have removed a lot of the aspects that gave it its charm (eg. visible guac bar, frequent mariachi band is now only Friday nights). Service is hit or miss but the food usually comes fast. It’s great that they seat you with chips and two dips to choose from. The food is good.

Beware if you have small children, I was informed that *none* of the high chairs in the building have working lap belts. If you have a rambunctious boy like we do, that makes enjoying the meal challenging. It’s too bad that this gem seems to be going downhill.“
