“I live just a couple miles away, drive by all the time and have wanted to try for quite a while. Tonight we went , all 3 of us got borria tacos. I wish I had come sooner. They were delicious. The juice to dip I like more then other restaurants. The meat could been a tad mor tender or just shredded more. But that will not stop me from coming back again, real soon. Great food and nice friendly warm service. Oh and the quac was best I've had. Loved it“

“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“

“Personally I think music could be more easy listening or have more variety at least (or turn down the volume so it's not a big experience factor), especially if you understand Spanish, the same band and the same subject becomes a little annoying soon. Either way the food is worth it.“

“Exceeded my expectations! I ordered through door dash and was so happy with the quality considering it was delivery. The salsa tasted so fresh and the chips are definitely homemade. They tasted like they'd just come out the fryer after 30 sec in the microwave. For my entree I got the Chicken Burrito which was amazing. It had so much flavor and was huge. Half of it is plenty to fill even the biggest appetite. I will definitely order from here again!“

“Our server was excellent. It was LOUD. Granted it was a Friday night, but even so, the place was incredibly loud. We only had just four people, and still all of us had trouble hearing one another. They should really put stuff on the walls to absorb the sound. (And they could put beautiful Mexican fabrics up, win/win.) Appetizers we good, but not great, but we all liked our entrees. “I asked Juan to provide his food cart for the Yale student record label’s Spring Concert. Juan was very friendly and helpful and dedicated to making my outdoor event work, even in the rain! “Wonderful food. Well-prepared. Typical atmosphere for this type of restaurant. But the best part was the Pancho Villa cocktail—a must-have (and I learned it was also the favorite of the bartender)—made with mezcal, chili liquor, their homemade tamarind syrup and more, with chili salt on the rim and chili powder swirl stick. All of our meals were excellent, with good flavors.“

“We loved this place when it first opened, but it seems like it’s under new ownership. It’s not necessarily “bad” now, but they have removed a lot of the aspects that gave it its charm (eg. visible guac bar, frequent mariachi band is now only Friday nights). Service is hit or miss but the food usually comes fast. It’s great that they seat you with chips and two dips to choose from. The food is good.

Beware if you have small children, I was informed that *none* of the high chairs in the building have working lap belts. If you have a rambunctious boy like we do, that makes enjoying the meal challenging. It’s too bad that this gem seems to be going downhill.“

“Love this place so much... Some people compare it to other fast-food burrito/taco joints, but I totally disagree; Bubbakoo's is so much better and the food is so fresh. People there are always awesome too. We usually order online and pick up - have never been disappointed. Burritos (especially the BYO and breakfast ones) and queso supreme are delicious. Not opening the burritos yet but will post pics!“
