“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“

It’s not necessarily “bad” now, but they have removed a lot of the aspects that gave it its charm (eg. visible guac bar, frequent mariachi band is now only Friday nights). Service is hit or miss but the food usually comes fast. It’s great that they seat you with chips and two dips to choose from. The food is good.

Beware if you have small children, I was informed that *none* of the high chairs in the building have working lap belts. If you have a rambunctious boy like we do, that makes enjoying the meal challenging. It’s too bad that this gem seems to be going downhill.“
