“I love Taco Palace, it's my go to! The selection is great, and all the food is very fresh and tasty. The staff are all very friendly and the restaurant is clean. The prices are in line with any other take out and the quality is much better.“

“Hidden gem!! First time here, everything was so delicious. We came for dinner at 7pm, very busy but we had reservations. Can’t wait to sit on patio soon! Drinks were outstanding, main dishes delicious, churros to share at the end. Don’t miss out!“

“I was my first time there. When you enter your greated at the door by a friendly staff, promptly your seated and given some home made nachos with salsa and bean dip, they arrive warm and really crispy, the atmosphere is quite pleasant the staff is always on point asking weather you need anything and how is your service experience. I got into a small conversation with one of the waiters and mentioned i was there for my birthday only to be surprised by a big sombrero and a staff singing to me. I was in shock but very happy they served me a complimentary dessert as well as complimentary ceviche made of tilapia fish. I must warn you if you go here please go hungry because the portions are ridiculously huge. I didnt give 5 stars because i plan on visiting again then i will edit my review accordingly“

“Amazing Al pastor tacos and carnitas burritos. Carnitas was juicy, rice was well seasoned and pillowy. Al pastor great depth of flavors and juicy. The red hot sauce was bomb Highly recommend this whole in the wall. Beats out a lot of taco trucks at the wharf. Will try the birria tacos next time“

“They are so welcoming and gentle. I was too hungry and went to the restaurant as it was near the highway. I was so confused because I never tasted that Mexican food. They answered my 1000 questions and later on we ate only one item named Tacos of $5. But truly that was good. They served so well with a smile. I am very happy and wish people would visit the place for Mexican food.“

“I was in Puebla last week and woke up craving a cemita today. I couldn’t believe I found such an amazing one so close - it would have been worth the drive from anywhere. This is by far the best Mexican food I’ve had in CT. The cemitas, tacos árabes and agua de maracuyá were all perfect. I can’t wait to come back often!“

“Absolutely delicious food! I went on a road trip to CT and wanted some food, did a quick search of the area via Google maps based on where I was, Rivas Taqueria was the best choice. The food is priced right BUT the FLAVOR was absolutely on ??? only had a vegetarian burrito, vegetarian quesadilla with rice & beans also complimentary chips. The food was fresh, the salsas were excellent“

“This was such a hidden gem!! Their food is always really good and fast. The ONLY negative thing I will say is that.... they had to raise their prices, so it's no longer affordable per se.2 burritos and 2 empanadas for $42 seems a little much, in my opinion. But this is unfortunately how things are now everywhere. Other than that it's a great little place. FIY- it's a grab and go situation not a sit down place.“

“This place now is my favorite Spanish food spot in East Haven. I know me some tacos and they got the whole situation correct. 4 was too many. THE SAUCES my goodness.... I felt refreshed and clean after eating 4 chicken tacos and my chocolate milkshake (highly recommended) I also get the spinach empanadas which are phenomenal. You will be greeted by lovely ladies that make you feel welcomed. Your food is ready quickly (I will only come here for my lunch bc they don't make you wait after you call in, plus the sweetness and respect from the employees go a long way for me)They deserve recognition and I wish I had something close to this in my town.Thank you ladies :):“

“It's a been a few years since I last visited, but I still think about this place from time to time. Whenever I'd visit my friend in New Haven, we'd always come here to feast on tacos and other offerings like tortas. The tacos are great value: $8 for 4 tacos for most of the selections. Best of all, they have my favorite variety of taco: tacos de lengua. Granted that the tacos de lengua come at a bit of a premium compared to the other varieties, but I'm more than willing to pay the extra $2. The taco fillings were generous and the chips + pico de gallo + salsa verde that came with each order was fresh. I wish they also gave radishes with the taco orders, but that's a minor thing. Next time I'm in New Haven, I'd be sure to come back here to have those tacos again.“

“Wow!!!! My boyfriend and I tried this new little spot on a whim and boy was it GOOD!!!! Honestly the best Mexican I’ve had in the states and I’ve lived in LA, California. It was so fresh and well made. Absolutely delicious. The tostadas were fire! So was the corn but those Churros!!! Honey. Let me tell you. THE BEST THING IVE EVER HAD! Get the caramel. I’m sure they’re all good but we got the caramel. It was like a warm custard inside of the churro. I thought it was gonna just be a sauce you dipped it in. They were excellent!!!!! I have a burrito I’m saving for later but I have no doubt it’s gonna be magic. Don’t sleep on this spot. It’s 100% worth it and the prices were beyond fare. Oh we also got tacos. I didn’t eat those but my man. Did. He loved them!!! Definitely go! And go now before they get so popular you can’t get in! Also, it needs to be mentioned that the customer service was outstanding. They were so kind and patient. Helpful. And all with a smile. I’mTelling you. Next big thing in Wallingford ??“

“Overall we had a good experience, Food was very good, some very unique, wife loved the flight os salsas! Two things that need some work to get 5 stars, one is staffing, on the Wednesday we visited only two waitresses were working the floor, including the bar and hosting. I've never waited so long to be seated when there was no line and tables were ready! Once seated waitresses was awesome but she was clearly overworked that night. Also we were surprised on how small menu was, not a fan of overly large menus but this did not provide lots of options. Also first choice of beers we ordered off menu were out. So cooks great, waitresses great, management, not so great.“
“Stopped by 1 afternoon for some traditional Mexican and this place did not disappoint. It is a mid size spot in the center of town in Wallingford. When you walk there are about 6 tables with the person taking orders by the register. The place is super casual and the girl working on the front super friendly. We had burritos and tostadas which were very good. The burrito which was what I had was super big and flavorful. Burritos are one of those meals that you can't go wrong with. The tostadas were what you would expect, crunchy with lots of toppings. Definitely a place to stop by while in Wallingford.“

“Great bakery! I was overwhelmed with the choices. I had no idea what most of the items were but when I asked for some help, the person working (baker/owner?) took me through each and every item in the house! Much appreciated. We took a baking pan and some tongs and selected several items including some Mexican sweet bread. A guava/cheese pastry, chocolate croissant (nothing like a French croissant), and an apple turnover. Everything was delicious!“

“I wish I took pictures of everything. I got the lemon cilantro swordfish from the specials menu, my boyfriend and his friend's wife got some sort of mole meal from the specials menu, and his friend got the crab cakes - all absolutely delicious! Awesome chips and salsa too! The salsa verde is my favorite! Great little hole in the wall.“

“El Compa is the real thing. Fresh ingredients, good preparation and presentation. For diners familiar with the menus of the West Coast and urban Mexico, and in search of authentic cuisine, there is no degree of separation. The menu has most conventional staples and is full. There are some particulars. The rellenos are of the breaded variety, which is a matter of preference. The mole is excellent, but is restricted to a single dish. However, the chef will customize an order if it is absent from the menu. The margaritas are simply excellent.El Compa is family friendly. There is access and convenience for the disabled and small children. Again, there is willingness to customize food orders. For those disappointed in the available Mexican cuisine on the Connecticut shoreline, there is a first rate alternative.“

“Somewhat kitchy decor with loud laminated graphic tables, foil cutout banners, and hilariously large vessels for their margaritas. A legitimate margarita with freshly squeezed lime, despite its totally absurd form factor. Freshly fried complimentary chips with a super spicy chipotle salsa. The $18 enchiladas with mole were fine. Nice servers.“

“What is a girl to even say?!?! I love this place!!!!! My boyfriend and I finally tried it and we will not go anywhere else for ice cream now. Fresh, icy, creamy but not too heavy, and so so tasty. The prices are unreal- I spent $8 for 2 people…… What?! Somewhere else would’ve been $20 for two people at least!!!“

“This place is pretty good. We love the tacos. The soft tortillas are great. Super fresh and soft every time! Owner is really friendly and the prices are reasonable. Definitely not authentic Mexican food but still delicious. Ordering take out is super quick. Usually ready in 15-20 minutes. Delivery is also quick! This place is definitely worth a visit!“

“I got the street tacos, they were da bomb. I don't think their menu pics do justice to how good their food is, need better pics. Delicious food and you start to feel like you're in a different place after a few minutes, like Texas. Staff is fully bilingual and i saw someone wearing pointy toe cowboy boots. They give you apparently endless warm chips and salsa. I'll go there again.“

“I love this place. The owner and staff are very nice and the food and drinks are top notch. They do have a mariachi trio that plays to the guests on the weekends and that's fun.Parking: The lot is small, but so is the restaurant. If you can't get a spot, there's a really big lot across the street that's free.“
