“The beer was very good, the bartender was friendly and provided great service and explained all the different beers they had and made some great recommendations. The wings were very good, as was their special of day- sausage platter and pretzels. We highly recommend it and will return!“
“I was so excited to go to Sweet P's during our trip to Essex, especially after hearing they use Ashley's ice cream! We were greeted so kindly! I ordered lemon graham and salted caramel on a waffle cone. Both flavors were amazing, but man, was that lemon something special! We really enjoyed everything! This place is a must when visiting Essex.“

“I was very impressed! Great seasonal cider with quite a few varieties. I recommend their Jack O Lantern Cider and Rhubarb wine. They had a fried chicken food truck that was "farm to food truck." We loved the two massive fire pits on the property- kept us there for hours!“
“A very cozy and a little kooky but in a very endearing way. i had the Et Tu Bruno Wrap (chicken caesar) and it was very good i would definitely get it again. my wife got the Tomcat Turkey sandwich (think thanksgiving meal between bread) and we both LOVED it. we both will be back and are excited to try more of what they have on the menu.“

“Really wonderful brewery in a beautiful area of Connecticut. We were here a couple of weeks ago on a very hot and humid day and had our dogs with us. Myrcene Brewery is dog friendly and allows the dogs to hang out inside (as long as they are well behaved). It was such a great oasis from the heat. Great beer (I took some home) and the atmosphere and the staff could not have been nicer. They have games too!“

“My wife and I went with another couple over the holidays. The other couple were true wine experts as they are producers of wine on a national level. We each had two flights and the wines were amazing. With the help of Derrick we were able to order some outstanding matching food. This little gem is a must go. The experience was tremendous. “I'll start with this...when 2 friends and I walked in, we were asked if we had a reservation, we didn't. Their only reply was, "we don't have a table available at the moment".That's it! we were turned down! We asked a few more questions were able to get a reservation for 45 min later.The food was great, the wines were delicious.The wine tasting flights were about $18.“
“Pub atmosphere, friendly staff, winter often not too busy, summers can be packed and noisy be sure to make a reservation. In warm months (if nice out) there is pleasant outdoor seating behind restaurant making it easier to get a table. Above average beer selection with many draft choices several from local breweries. QR code on drink menu puts an informative updated beer list on your smart phone.“
“Such a cute and cozy spot in downtown Old Saybrook! When you walk in, there's a whole case of various pastries, and it looks like they have several gluten free options as well! I ordered a pumpkin spice latte that was to die for!! Sort of on the sweeter side of things- but I didn't mind. We ordered a tuna melt that came with a side of carrot sticks, and an avocado BLT special that came with a side of hash browns. Everything came out great! Definitely recommend a stop if you're in the area.“
“Salem Valley Farms has some of the best ice cream I've had in a while! I recently went and ordered the Pumpkin Pie Sundae, which was SO GOOD! Pumpkin ice cream topped with caramel sauce, graham cracker crumbs, whipped cream, and cinnamon. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Quick, friendly service. They just have a window to order/pickup, with no indoor seating, but there are picnic tables on the side where you can sit. Overall a great ice cream spot!“
“Visited here over a year ago and cannot stop thinking about the best ever Lobster Roll..... planing a trip to the region and trying to figure out how to sneak in a two hour side trip!Update: Still the best. Traveled the northeast coast and tried several other places and decided to change departure plans so we could have it again. “Entered parking lot on left of the building, and it was totally unsafe for us to manage. We are elderly and in our 80s and had to try to step into and overa channel for runoff going up from the parking space to an uneven walkway to the restaurant. The parking lot on the right of the restaurant is where we should have parked, but it was our first visit and we had to dart thru traffic to park.Parking: See my comments about parking problems.“
“There’s such a variety of yummy treats at Essex Chocolates! I always find something to enjoy for myself or a gift to buy for a special occasion. They have a nice range of items from homemade to name brands to novelty. The handicap entrance is next to Scotch Plains Tavern; the entrance just outside the chocolate shop has a few steps. Plenty of parking on both sides. Check out the local handmade gifts or just stop in for a beverage or ice cream!“
