“Visited SDW last week for lunch with a chef pal who has several restaurants overseas. When he is Stateside, he always searches for staple foods done right. Gary and the crew delivered on all fronts. My go-to is the New Englander, and it never disappoints. My buddy had the Chicagoan and loved it. We both got a burger as well, which was cooked perfectly and impressively juicy. We were both taken aback by the hand-cut fries with S&P. We commented on how hard it is to consistently turn out such high-quality, short-order potatoes, and Gary gave us a detailed rundown of their process. After a lengthy discussion, including the merits of whole-belly clams vs. strips, Gary even gave us an order of hand-battered onion rings to try, which were also stellar. Super Duper is the real deal, from the menu to the people!“
“Always an old time favorite! We had the hot dog with the works which was just delicious and brings you back in time! I think the Onion rings were the best I have ever had!! Very friendly counter service. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we took ours to the beach to eat our lunch!“
“I was informed that new ownership had just taken over. This was my first time to dine here so I can't say if that's affected anything. The new owner assured me that they'd be keeping the menu mostly the same. The owner and the cashier went above and beyond by catering to exactly what my family wanted. Typically places are hesitant to allow people to add whatever they want but not Fatty Patty. I had about 5 hot dogs and they were all well cooked and well prepared. Sloppy just like I enjoy. The milkshake was also very delicious and customized. I will most certainly return. Lots of space at the tables and around them with a very modern and open atmosphere.“
“Can't tell you how much I've missed this place, since not being I'm the area. Glad to be back around. Everything is ala carte, but the food is consistently delicious! Customer service is also good, just remember to bring cash. They do have an ATM just in case. There's also a few benches outside, covered by the shade of large umbrellas and the parking lot is a decent size. Not sure what I'm gonna try next time so feel free to comment with your suggestions!“
“This place is an institution in landmark of Fairfield. It’s a famous spot that David Letterman and Martha Stewart go to really great hotdogs and super cool place to eat. Really nice ambience in the employees are awesome. Super friendly definitely check this out if you’re in Fairfield or around there.“
