As a solo diner, ordering a pizza—as recommended—wasn’t practical for me, but the packed parking lot on a Thursday night was a great sign that the locals truly enjoy this place. The process is simple: place your order, then choose a table. A unique touch was receiving a playing card as my order number. I ordered the meatballs and Italian-seasoned wings, along with a house Cabernet. No Spirits here, but great selection of Barley pops and wine however. For an extra nickel, I received a refill token in the form of a casino coin—such a novel idea that I had to play along. The drink service lagged a bit, either because the restaurant was busy or because I failed to pick up my Cabernet at the counter. The meatballs arrived first: three large, flavorful meatballs served in a ramekin with marinara and melted cheese. I chose three meatballs with a side salad instead of four, and it was the perfect amount. The wings arrived shortly after I finished. I chose the Italian-seasoned, baked wings. They were very tasty, although I generally prefer fried wings—though the baked option was probably the better choice for me that evening. Overall, this was a very reasonably priced dinner, and I didn’t feel too bad passing on one of the amazing-looking pizzas. Torrington has clearly maintained the East Coast pizza tradition and reputation. A stop here won’t disappoint.“

“We had a wonderful experience at George’s today. At a party of 6 adults, and 2 toddlers, we were very happy to sit down soon after arriving. We had a knowledgeable waitress who accommodated our special dietary needs. The food was delicious and enjoyed by all of our group. We would highly recommend this super, hometown feel, very professional restaurant for everyone! (And I totally felt comfortable eating their gluten free options)“

Very personal locals and staff. Upbeat ..friendly vibe... Nostalgic historic decorations along the walls with flat screen TVs. Interesting artwork with a lot of history. Adds a nice flare as you look around. Very tastefully decorated... I would definitely come back and have brunch or dinner and just chill out... This is a very classy place in Torrington“

“Such a pleasant place to go for breakfast or lunch. Great vibe. Food is consistently delicious and they offer specials which are updated on a regular basis. You can’t really go wrong no matter what you choose but my favorite is the egg white skillet. It arrives at the table piping hot and stays that way for quite a while. Love it that way! The staff is always so friendly and warm too.“

“First time I’ve been here. Most everything was excellent. Amongst things I had was a hibachi combo with broccoli. The sauce was a little “too much” in terms of thickness/sweetness/quantity, but not bad. I requested the broccoli to be cooked soft and it came out excellent ! (Thanks)

“ordered from ollies for the first time last week. theyre new on slice! placed my order, and everything I put in the "special request" spot, was not done, I called them, they were SOOOOOO friendly and explained that it was a new system, and it was written very small, they made my food correct, and none of them could've been any more apologetic! I felt bad, since they had to bring it all the way back to Torrington. Again the person that delivered was apologetic, and they gave me a free desert. “This is a smaller eatery with lots of character and great service. I had breakfast and ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy and 2 lightly scrambled eggs, also smothered in the sausage gravy. Ordered, blinked, and my food was served, impressive for a small eatery. Great biscuits and sausage gravy and the eggs were cooked perfect. I also ordered home fries with onions which tasted great and were also cooked to perfection, I loved seeing the onions cooked well as in, some were even burnt, the way they're supposed to be. Stop by if you get a chance, you'll feel right at home.“

“Overall, the food was good, but there were a few things that affected my experience.

I felt quite unwell after eating there, which unfortunately put a damper on the meal. Also, while the option to choose two side dishes sounds generous, the portions were actually quite small.

I personally didn’t enjoy the vegetables, as they had a slightly sour taste. I was also a little surprised that some of the food was served in plastic dishes, especially considering the price point of the restaurant.

Overall, the food itself was good, but I expected a bit more in terms of portions and presentation for the price.“

“I actually like this place. Reminds me of back home. Cash is preferred. And the price ranges for lunch $7 to 9 dollars. My children love chicken wings with pork fried rice. That was around $8.50. But they give you 4 wings which is what I'm use too compared my local Chinese that give you on 6 pc for $7.80. I did take pictures of their menu because I was always hesitant to buy when I don't see menu on website. I believe they should update their system. We're in 2021?? either way I'm happy my local was close on Monday. Gave me a chance to try new food.“
