“Overall, the food was good, but there were a few things that affected my experience.

I felt quite unwell after eating there, which unfortunately put a damper on the meal. Also, while the option to choose two side dishes sounds generous, the portions were actually quite small.

I personally didn’t enjoy the vegetables, as they had a slightly sour taste. I was also a little surprised that some of the food was served in plastic dishes, especially considering the price point of the restaurant.

Overall, the food itself was good, but I expected a bit more in terms of portions and presentation for the price.“

“WOW! I placed a takeout order and was completely blown away by how good it was. I ordered the drunken noodles with scallops and asked for them Thai hot—and they absolutely delivered on the spice level.

I really appreciate that, because sometimes restaurants seem hesitant to make a dish truly spicy. Not here! If you love heat, you’ll be very happy.

Side note, I think someone made a mistake and put someone else food in my bag. It was a cocanut chicken dish that I did not order. I was already 30 minutes away when I noticed it so I guess I'll try that for lunch tomorrow. I'll be back!“

“My (now) husband has been taking me here since they first opened. We have loved bringing friends and family to the tour and tastings, as well as purchasing their spirits and merch. My family from CA has become a huge fan as well! We decided to do a local brewing style for our wedding and reached out to LD on a whim hoping to rent some barrels to use as decor and tables during cocktail hour and throughout the evening. We purchased a large amount of spirits that we served at the wedding and wanted to use their barrels! They were so kind and provided us with four brand new looking barrels. They were so beautiful and were perfect. Exactly what we were looking for during this beautiful day! People loved them and gave them and idea of what we were serving. Thank you LD for making our wedding even more memorable!“

“have been to Brinx twice. Both times I had the everything bagel with cheese, egg and bacon. The bagel is slightly toasted and is both soft and tasty. They give plenty of cheese and plenty of bacon for the very reasonable price of $7.00, which is unmatched anywhere. The young man who serves is friendly and pleasant. The place looks a bit dusty but the tables are clean and the coffee is very good. I highly recommend this place.“

“Not a wine person. But had to post what a great place and experience this place is. So cool inside and outside. Great whites. I had a whole bottle of Riesling after the flight tasting. All of the whites are delicious. We will be back. Awesome experience.“

“So I have to give so much praise to this winery. First off Jeff is absolutely amazing. I reached out to him back in Feburary asking about using the winery to get married in April and Jeff was so easy to talk to and was so easy to make plans with so I had the best day. Second off a huge shoutout to the staff of the winery. I was married on April 13th 2024 and it was rainy, windy, and incredibly cold. They let us get married on their deck and out of the rain no questions asked. I went back today on 4/15 to pick up a bottle of wine because I want to have it to drink on my one year wedding anniversary of a wonderful memory of the beautiful place we got married at. The ladies behind the bar were so kind and helped me pick the best wine to my liking. Thank you so much for giving me a beautiful place to get married and a beautiful place to have created beautiful memories with those I love the most. “I'm a Field Tech from Western MA. A friend of mine took me to Jimmy's 45 years ago. Torrington is a ways to go, but I take jobs there just so I can go to Jimmy's. In 45 years little has changed, especially the quality of the prepared foods. I was raised on Italian food, and this is as good as it gets. I have a job in Torrington tomorrow. See you for lunch, and get something special for Sunday dinner. And the staff there is a joy as well.“

“I ordered a coconut cake with a lime curd filling for my husband’s birthday and it was beautiful and absolutely delicious! It was honestly one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. I tip my hat to the excellent baker at the Bakehouse. The cake easily fed 25 people with a little leftover to have with my coffee the next morning! Sheer perfection.“

“This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I tried beers from Lasting Brass at bars before, but this was my first visit to the brewery.

The brewery occupies a separate building near a picturesque area with a river. It has 2 separated outdoor patios and a small area indoors. No food is served inside, but food trucks might are onsite occasionally.

I already had several favorite beers from Lasting Brass, because they were not shy to experiment with flavors. So this time I tried all beers they had on tap. Luckily, there is an option to order a small pour. I have to say, that some beers really impressed me. All the beers I tried were solid, crushable and tasty. But the special place in my heart is reserved to their flagship beers - Java Bloom (Imperial Stout) and Contusion (Sour IPA). These 2 were really bursting with flavor, that was complex and layered. On top of the beers, I thoroughly enjoyed the community in this place. It was filled with regulars, everyone knew each other and it was just a really cozy and friendly environment.

I do recommend this brewery to everyone and it is worth a dedicated trip.“

“First time I’ve been here. Most everything was excellent. Amongst things I had was a hibachi combo with broccoli. The sauce was a little “too much” in terms of thickness/sweetness/quantity, but not bad. I requested the broccoli to be cooked soft and it came out excellent ! (Thanks)

“They make the greatest croissants, English muffin bread and bacon egg and cheeses. She makes the croissants and English muffin bread from scratch, and uses the thickest bacon around on her sandwiches. Everyday there’s something new in the baked goods case, and I never regret getting it (cough cough carrot cake cheese cake coffee cake) 🤤. Love hearts is truly a hidden gem“

“We have been to Uncommon many times and the food is always amazing and we have always had a great experience all around but I want to say we had the absolute best service here tonight so I wanted to thank our server Justin D. for an outstanding dining experience tonight. Justin was professional and has a really fun personality. Even though the restaurant was crazy busy we never had to ask for anything, Justin was just there anytime we needed anything. The support staff also did an amazing job tonight as well keeping the table clear of empty glasses and dishes and running food. Just an over all lovely experience.“
