“A unique opportunity to try Sri Lankan food in an intimate dining space. I am not sure I have ever seen a Sri Lankan spot! Our server was super helpful in describing the traditional dishes and making recommendations based on our preferences. We ordered three dishes to get a fair sampling of the cuisine and also the benefit of having great leftovers for the next day as well. We got the Kottu Roti, Lump Rice, and the Stew all with a spice level of mild, which was perfectly enjoyable. Everything was delicious but the Stew was the favorite. I cannot wait to stop back again. We saw a few platters pass by that we added to the mental list for next time!“

“I used to eat here fairly regularly for the asada fries, but it's now down to 50/50 if the fries themselves will be edible, or overcooked to a point that they're the same color as the meat and my metal fork can't pierce them. Bummer. I don't know where else you can go for lumpia and a taco though.“

“If you’re craving a taste of Thailand, look no further than this hidden gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the enticing aroma of authentic Thai spices, transporting you to the bustling streets of Bangkok. The menu boasts a tantalizing array of traditional dishes, each bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. Whether you’re a fan of fiery curries, fragrant stir-fries, or aromatic soups, there’s something to delight every palate.I had the pleasure of trying several dishes during my visit, and each one was a culinary masterpiece. The Pad Thai was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory, while the Green Curry had just the right amount of heat to leave a lingering warmth. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with attentive staff who are eager to ensure a memorable dining experience. The attention to detail in both the presentation of the dishes and the decor truly sets this place apart.Overall, I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. “If you're looking for sushi look no further. Johnny has the freshest and best presented sushi anywhere in the area. The added benefit of also being able to top notch Chinese food make this place a double winner. Sometimes there will be that odd person in the group who doesn't like sushi, for them there are a ton of other options. But I can't understand those people, go figure.Dietary restrictions: Very easy to find gluten free options.“

“One of the most intimate lounges I’ve ever been to! Such a great vibe with unique dishes that have a southeast Asian flare. They have an amazing cocktail program as well. The staff was friendly and attentive during our time there. There aren’t many places like this in CT, let alone New London! A great spot for a date night or to come see the live music they offer on the weekends.“

“We come here typically for dim sum which is decent. Today, we thought we'd try the "3-course" Peking Duck. Well, it's more like 3-serving-piece Peking Duck. Three courses should be: (1) duck skin with pancakes or buns, (2) duck meat stir-fry, and (3) duck soup made from the carcass. Don't order this and be disappointed like us. This is a 1-course Peking Duck. The skin is not crunchy but it's hard to expect much in rural CT. The duck skin is more like roast duck skin, slightly chewy, little crispy in parts if you're lucky. They explained that the "3 courses" are the buns (in steamer), the cucumbers and scallions, and the carved duck - very funny interpretation of "courses". Shouldn't the hoisin sauce count as a course too?“

“I loved my experience at Pink Basil because of multiple things. Firstly the food was delicious and well made. Secondly the decoration was really pretty and just made you feel at home. And lastly our server Meriah was very nice even with our chaotic family.Kid-friendliness: We had two kids and and my daughter is a very picky eater and they made a special meal without some of the things she wouldn’t like.“
