“If you haven't seen the new look at Taco Bell, your missing out on a good, clean atmosphere. It's 11:22pm and it's been a while I haven't sat and had me some good supreme Tacos!!! I am very satisfied with the young gentleman who took my order. The cook definitely hooked it up chicken, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, hard tocos with melted four cheeses inside and out cant forget thsour cream chachooooo! Brooooo!!! ♡“

“An absolute gem.
We were greeted, seated, and served in short order, and the food was lovely. A chamming mix of culture and cuisine, classic diner style meets authentic Mexican dishes. A quiet place to eat and Cisco himself stopped by to check in after our meal and introduce himself, even treating myself and my guest to a churro on the house - if that makes my biased, guilty!

“We’ve eaten here several times over the past two years since moving to Meriden, and I can confidently say: when we crave tacos, this is our go-to spot. The tacos are always fantastic, and the fried fish plate is absolutely amazing — generous portions, super fresh, and full of flavor. Everything we’ve tried has been on point and never disappoints. “If you’re looking for Mexican food on the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, you have choices. If you want to sip margaritas out of a fish bowl and guacamole made table side then Puerto Vallarta and Azteca might be for you. If you want fast food from chain restaurants then there’s Chipotle and Moe’s. But if you’re looking for the best authentic Mexican fare the Berlin Turnpike has to offer, look no further the Salsa 4 Taqueria! It’s a hole in wall that you would drive by if you weren’t looking for it. I had beef empanadas, a trio of tacos, el pastor, pork belly, and deep fried shrimp. I’ve never been to Mexico but I imagine this is what I would get on the streets there. Be prepared to wait for your food. Empanadas are made to order and the corn taco shells are pressed and cooked to order with a choice of soft or crunchy! The el pastor was very flavorful, pork belly with a nice char on the outside melts in your mouth, the batter fried shrimp were large and delicious, shredded beef in the empanadas was braised to perfection! Sorry for the lack of pictures, I dug in before it crossed my mind. Yes, it’s that good!“

“I can't say what I like best, because it is all delicious. I usually get the enchiladas huertenas because I can't decide if the mole, red sauce, or green sauce is better; they are all equally wonderful. So are their tender, flavorful tamales. even their chips & salsa are a cut above. Pickup during the pandemic is fast and painless, which we appreciate.“

“I came here last weekend for the first time, the food is amazing. All different types of authentic Mexican cuisines, the service was excellent. It was speedy even in a packed environment. I had their chicken burrito, it was delicious. Full of meat, rice, beans, etc. This small business is top notch. Not the mention the sweet elderly couple that owns it is so welcoming. “1. Service was professional tacos were the best i've ever had in twenty years.Would I recommend this restaurant!!!! Absolutely. One hundred percent way better than the new haven trucks way better than any restaurant imitation mexican food!!! If you come here, not only are their prices reasonable, but try everything on the menu. It's phenomenal in the food taste very authentically quality.

“My current top hidden gem for amazing and authentic Mexican food. Hidden in La plaza del Mercado, this spot has the most amazing tripe soup, where the tripe was properly cleaned, no funky taste/smell, cooked perfectly tender. Great caldo de res as well, the meat was tender and had a strong beef flavor, soup was light and refreshing and the veggies provided a nice natural sweetness and the squash was incredible inside. Their tacos are great as well and their pricing is a bargain and their portions are quite good.“

“If you’re craving delicious, authentic Mexican food, look no further than Fuego Picante! This spot truly stands out, and their Birria Quesadilla is hands down the best I’ve ever had. The meat is perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, paired with just the right amount of cheese and crispiness in every bite. It’s absolutely mouthwatering! The Shrimp Quesadilla and the Birria Mulitas are also pictured which are just as delectable.
The customer service here is top-notch – the staff is always friendly, welcoming, and eager to make sure your experience is fantastic. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers and take pride in their food.
One of my favorite things about Fuego Picante is that their food is always hot and fresh. Every dish I’ve had is served with care, and you can taste the difference in quality.
I also love that they post their hours on Instagram every day, which makes it super easy to know when they’re open. It’s a great little touch that shows they truly care about their customers staying informed.

“Beautiful setting, great atmosphere! We went for Happy Hour today, Saturday 8/9/25... margaritas were perfect, my wife had the Chicken & Cheese Taquittos I had the Tuna Tartar Nachos and we shared Chips & Salsa. All was fresh & quite delicious! Isabella, our server, was great, friendly, prompt and on point! We highly recommend & will certainly return!“
