Harvest offers a split experience in New Haven, with fabulous food that is inventive and beautifully prepared and presented. The menu includes dishes like steak, branzino, shaved Brussels salad, and crispy artichokes, though one dish was described as bland. The atmosphere can be very noisy in the front bar, where staff may seem untrained and irrelevant content plays on bar screens, but the back dining room is immaculate with incredible, attentive staff. The patio is great for a leisurely meal outside, and a live band sometimes plays, creating a very calming atmosphere. Service has been described as occasionally difficult, especially pre-theatre, and one reservation was not honored upon arrival. However, longtime staff members are always kind, welcoming, and attentive, with specific shoutouts for their heartwarming service. The owner is amazing and humble, visiting tables before, during, and after service. For a better experience, sitting in the back dining room is recommended.
