“Always a good experience here but yesterday we had the fantastic Sadie waiting on us and she was on top of everything. We never had to look for her for a drink or anything we needed. What an asset she is to Black Dog.“

“Not enough staff. We ordered 2 pizzas and after 20 minutes had to ask how our order was going. She checked and realized she had not put the order in. They completely burnt one of the 2 pizzas and served it to us. Then asked “ I guess you want me to make another pizza” . YES! We were starving by that time. No apologies or discount for the mistake. “There is never a dull moment at the tavern. I’ve been frequenting this place for over 10 years at this point. They have an incredible blues jam on Sundays with the hottest house band in town. It’s been going on for nearly 20 years. A good friend of mine hosts the open mic on Thursday nights, and they have a great format you can play as a solo artist or you can do an open jam. They have a very affordable wing special on Wednesdays. The atmosphere is lively and fun. I’ve made friends with some of the regulars. Some of them have been coming to the same bar for 50 years. The owner Robyn is very friendly and hard-working. Her whole family is invested in the business and I really appreciate that, having worked in the service industry for a long time. What are you waiting for? Go down to the roadhouse!“

“We were looking for some good fish during lent. Sinni's fit the bill.It was clean and loaded with TV's which would make watching a game a lot of fun. A pub menu which is fine and we enjoyed our fish & chips. The owner was tending bar and doing the cooking. Very conscientious and personable woman.We will be back.“

The bartender I should have gotten her name she was amazing! Definitely keep her! The food was excellent we had the oysters and shrimp cocktail, Buffalo tenders, chowder, salad and seafood pasta. All 100% excellent. This is the best it's ever been since I've been going there keep up the good work!“

“Staying in town, so went in for some food and beer before a concert. Had so much fun hanging with the locals that we almost missed our concert! Great service, pizza and wings were excellent and everyone was super friendly. If we ever make it back this way will definitely stop in again!!“

“This is hard… because I like the people service is slow… to slow. They need a second bartender to handle the restaurant area in peak times. I was there this past week. Ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings. After a long wait… the chicken sandwich was served hot and tasty. The onion rings were cold. Pasty as if they’ve been out of the frier for 30 minutes. Come on guys… step it up. We like your business.“

“It's better than I thought it was going to turn out to be... Coconut Mai Tai was a highlight. Peking Ravioli were just the way I like them with ginger sauce... Pork fried rice was obviously day old made to reheat and personally can make better at home, but honestly, on the whole better than I was expecting; considering what I've been told and overheard in passing. Which, until I heard they had hired a new cook had previously kept me away and from bothering to try it out.“
