The sandwiches are very overpriced for the quality - I got a chicken pesto sandwich that had no pesto and barely any cheese. The hot food portions seem much more appropriate for the price, and the coffee bar is also nice.
This place is profoundly OK. It's hard to think of a more okay kind of place that you would possibly stick at the top of "the nation's cultural center, and a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy." It's called a Cafe. Now, see, these days when you see "Cafe," you think a cute little shop where you might get a cappuccino and a nice sandwhich, baked goods, perhaps a slice of quiche or something.
