An extraordinary, wonderful neighborhood bar -- but also a cosmopolitan bar -- that comes with the Georgetown spot, yards from the Four Seasons and embassies. Kind, attentive staff and an extraordinary repertoire of cocktails, fine wines and small plates. Sitting comfortably at bar immediately among friends, in the L'Annexe library or charming table spaces. Not to be missed. -- JW
