City Cruises Reviews
We took the ferry to Mount Vernon and back with our 2 kids. The value was good with some downsides. The instructions on where to board were very confusing and led us to walk around for 30 min to find the right dock- not a relaxing way to start the trip. A few other families had the same issue. The boat was scheduled to depart at 8:30, but departed at 9:00. This was irritating after our frustration in finding the right dock. We were also disappointed that there was no narration...read full review
We participated in the 4th of July fireworks river cruise on the Potomac. First… the good - the fireworks were delayed through no fault of the city cruises and they returned to the dock on time but let us remain on board to watch them. The server was great his name was Chris and the primary bright spot in the evening. Now for the failings…. First, I was told when I called that the semi formal dress code was not optional and would be strictly enforced - yet there...read full review
The experience isn’t worth the price, after getting seated waiting for food and refreshments the overall views and low quality of the food leave you eager to return to dock and continue with other more fruitful activities.

Based on the reviews, City Cruises offers a wonderful experience on the water. The atmosphere is beautiful, with breathtaking views of the skyline and city from the river. The boat is clean and comfortable, with both indoor and outdoor seating areas and plenty of places to sit and look out the windows. The staff is friendly, attentive, and super friendly from boarding to the end. The food is delicious, with meals like salmon, potatoes, and bacon described as a solid 10/10 and cooked to perfection. The entertainment is enjoyable, with a DJ playing all the hits and getting people up dancing. The entire evening feels relaxing and well organized. Many reviewers celebrated special occasions like Mother’s Day and anniversaries, noting the mimosas were so good and kept flowing. The only minor notes were that snacks were a little bit expensive for what you got, and one year the mothers missed getting a rose. Overall, the vibes, music, food, and family time make it a perfect way to spend an evening, and it is definitely recommended for a memorable night out or a fun day in DC.
