Nothing special; all the food tasted sweet. It's perfect for foreigners who have never been to Thailand.

The spice time is the right time at Rimtang in Georgetown. Make sense? Maybe? This felt like eating in someone’s house, albeit with about 40 other strangers. My waitress deserves a major award, she was literally spinning plates and working a bakers dozen’s worth of tables and making it all sing somehow. Had papaya salad (3/5 spice level, waitress recommended 2, but i persisted, her advice was right and my choice was also right - is that possible??) and Ka-Praw with pork belly (more like kapow(!) amirite?). Not since my first meal at Thip Khao a decade ago have I left a meal in DC so satisfied, and with smoke still coming out of my ears.

I will not recommend. Food is not authentic and very small portion. Service was very slow and waitress forgot few things we asked for...

We found Rim Tang while looking for authentic Thai street food in Georgetown, and it turned out to be such a hidden gem!
It’s a very small and cozy place — only about 4–5 tables with seating for around 10–12 people — but that actually adds to the charm. It truly feels like a little Thai street food spot right in the heart of Georgetown.
We ordered the chicken krapow, panang curry, and chicken satay. Everything was delicious. The krapow was perfectly seasoned and very authentic. The panang curry was rich, flavorful, and had a wonderful peanut taste. The chicken satay was excellent, and the peanut sauce was absolutely amazing — easily one of the best parts of the meal.
The server was also great — friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
The only downside is parking. Since it’s in Georgetown, there’s no dedicated parking, so you’ll need to find street parking or a nearby garage. But the location is fantastic and worth the effort.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic Thai flavors! 🌶️🍜
