great staff! delicious coffee!
I just had the displeasure of visiting the DC location on the corner of 14th and G, near The Hamilton. I usually stop by in the morning for a Nitro latte (I prefer them over Starbucks). Today I got out of work early and rushed over, they close at 6, and I got in at 5:59. I know, not cool walking in a minute before closing because they want to clean up and go home. Swings has a great public coffee cupping every Friday at 10 AM in the Alexandria roasters location. You can taste fantastic roasted coffee from all over the world. It was really nice to meet Yolima Rojas of Paisa Coffee (near Medellin, Colombia) and Neil Balkcom, director of coffee operations at Swing’s. They gave us a good overview of 6 different coffees including varieties from Guatemala, Colombia and Ethiopia.

Swing's Coffee offers a pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, serving quality coffee and drinks. It is a nice local coffee shop located in the business district, attracting many morning customers, mostly office workers from the surrounding area. The straight espresso has a nice body and flavor, though some customers wish for more intensity. The cold brew is noted to be unparalleled—smooth, rich, and always the perfect pick-me-up. The hot chocolates are described as gorgeous, and the cinnamon rolls are considered the best ever—soft, flavorful, and utterly indulgent. The overall coffee experience is good, with consistent service across locations. The staff, including manager Josh, is extremely helpful and consistently welcoming, creating a positive and inviting atmosphere. The space is pretty large with lots of seating and natural light through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The vibe changes with the number of people, and the staff handles busy times well. Swing's Coffee also has a nice selection of coffees and seasonal autumn flavors on the menu.
