The Hamilton Reviews
An excellent spot for casual meetings. They offer great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food.
Did not allow a substitution on a sandwich when they were out of the one type of bread it comes on. Slow service. I rarely criticize restaurants, but I'm leaving here disappointed. Also overpriced, (you have to pay for the basket of bread?) but that's to be expected in DC.
This was a disappointment and dangerous for someone with Celiac Disease. My family specifically decided to eat here on our vacation to DC last week because it was recommended as a safe place for a person that must avoid gluten and cross contact.
It started well. Our waiter asked for allergies. I explained my ten-year-old daughter's need to avoid gluten and cross contact. He made notes. She ordered the gluten free bun with the cheeseburger but was not able to get the fries...read full review

The Hamilton offers a great location and spectacular food at reasonable prices. Their menu features delicious dishes like scallops, rigatoni, and Vodka Pasta, as well as a tasty cheese plate appetizer. The staff is friendly and attentive, with notable service from servers who provide excellent recommendations and ensure a pleasant experience. The food was terrific and really delicious, making it a favorite for many. The restaurant has a large, beautiful dining and bar area with mahogany everywhere, creating an old-time feel. The ambiance is enhanced by nice lighting at dinner time, and the booths are comfortable, with some being partially closed off to reduce noise, which helps guests enjoy their meals like pork belly and steak frites. Customers enjoyed seasonal burrata, edamame, burger, crab cake entree, ragu, and pistachio cheesecake. Some reviews mentioned that French fries could be greasy and tasteless, and a steak was a little tough, but overall the experience remains good with quality food at a good value. The place is very spacious, with a huge dining room broken into several rooms, making it lively but sometimes a little loud. The bar staff is friendly and efficient, and the service in both the bar and dining room is generally very good. Parking can be expensive in DC, but there are options nearby. Despite occasional minor issues, The Hamilton continues to be a popular spot for a nice evening out.
