“We stopped at Vanderwende’s and loved it! The ice cream was rich and creamy — I had cookies & cream and cupcake in a cup, while my partner enjoyed a waffle cone with mint chocolate chip and chocolate chip cookie dough. The waffle cone was sturdy and didn’t fall apart or drip from the bottom or sides, and both flavors were perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The scoop sizes were generous and satisfying.
What makes this place extra special is the “farm to scoop” — it’s a local gem with that authentic charm. Parking is a bit limited, and I can imagine it gets busy in the summer, but it’s worth it. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and we really enjoyed the lovely outdoor seating area.

“Highly recommend!! I came to them with a semi last minute cake order and they exceeded my expectations! Everything was perfect, the cake was beautiful, flavorful and very well decorated! Everything was simple from placing the order to picking it up. I will definitely use them again in the future.“

“First time here, I'm not usually in the area but my doctor's right down the road. One of the nurses suggested this place. I am more than impressed. The young man at the drive-thru is very polite, as well as the girl that handed me my food. My food barely made it home it smelled so good I actually had to eat and drive. I had the #1. I can tell you for the price you get a lot of food. The burger and fries were both outstanding. I'll probably make a trip back just to go and pick up lunch here during the week I want to try some other things they have a very extensive menu.“

“I did not know De had no straws but I did not get a spoon either, probably just an oversight. Will be sure to ask from now on. The first Driveway is directly beside slant that goes mown to the Nanticoke River. One oversight, it would be very dangerous.“
