Returning from New Jersey we made a stop at Delaware House Plaza to get sandwiches at Pret A Manager . Shame the skinny sandwiches are no longer available…economical and great to eat. We got the BLT and a vanilla latte. Delicious even cold.
People like to 'trash talk' Pret, but I think it is one of the best places around for a quick sandwich, soup, salad, yogurt and fruit...especially on an Interstate rest area. The sandwich selections are eclectic but great. The Caprese baguette is my favorite, as is the chicken salad on regular bread. Great soups, great salads and sides and really good lemonade. Their coffee is not so good, but you shouldn't drink coffee with sandwiches anyway :). Check this place...
My mom and I stopped by the Pret in Newark, DE, USA almost every other day along our hour commute to Select Speciality Hosptial where my dad was being treated for a month.Without the staff even knowing, they saved countless days when all we wanted was a warm, pick-me-up and something healthy and delicious to bring for lunch.It was definitely a highlight through a difficult time in our lives and we have so much gratitude. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
