“Great ambiance and amazing food. I had a lot of food… falafel, spicy hummus, kafta kabob, tzatziki loaded with veggies, cheese balls, and baklava. All so delicious and fresh. I even loved the fresh pita and dipping sauce that was complimentary. From the manager and many servers, everyone was pleasant and friendly throughout my time there. I went during happy hour so the specials were great during that time. I’m definitely returning to this Mediterranean restaurant for sure. I loved it.”

“I've been going to Pieloon for a few years now and it is THE BEST restaurant in Downey! The food is always fabulous, the portions are large, the service is perfect! I've had appetizers, salads, pastas, steaks, burgers, sandwiches (I'm addicted to the BLT) and many of their specials. My family and I go now 2x a week and have trouble deciding what to get because it's all so good! And the pies...their pumpkin pie is the best I've ever had and the blueberry cheesecake is fabulous...but just wait until fresh peach pie season...I'll gain weight just thinking about it...the fresh peach is the best pie I've ever, EVER had! I love this place and the people who work there!! They're like family now!”

“A small family owned Mediterranean restaurant. We were in Downey so decided to swing by for a quick lunch. We ordered from a nice person named Daysha. She even provided us with a free tasting of their baklava and was really tasteful. Our meal came very fast. It was great. Will be coming back here again and will try more stuff from their menu.”

“I was in the area for lunch and the scent of fresh churros filled the air. I’m glad I went in and tried it. The prices are pretty good and the Churros were delicious. They had a nice menu and my wife and I decided we would come back soon to try some of their breakfast options. It is a small space so it wouldn’t be able to accommodate a large group but if it’s just you and a significant other you may enjoy a tasita de café de olla and some of their churros or other fresh baked goods. Give it a try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

I enjoyed the dense fried batter used on the sweet and pungent shrimp. The sauce was light and not overly sweet. I enjoyed the dark mushrooms in the mushroom chicken. The sauce did not over power the vegetables, nor was it over salty. The wonton soup was incredible. The filling in the wontons provides additional flavor with a hint of caraway or anise. The broth was lite and not briny. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Downey.”

I would just like to add that Lemon ? not only is it good but it also cuts the taste of the frying oil from one food item to the next, when there is no Lemon all the food starts tasting the same and the frying oil can be a bit overwhelming. “Super deli place for those sinful cravings but they are worth it ?. Delicious tejuino, a very Mexican flavor. Bionics are the basic ones, without a doubt very rich. The very tasty skis as well as its fresh waters (Aguas locas) and snows. Everything was undoubtedly very tasty and the service was excellent!!”

“This place is a hole in the wall with a small bar and a few booths. I missed it as I was trying to navigate with Google. It doesn't have a super clear sign but it's worth going. My dad and I came here after seeing that our normal place was packed. So worth it! The salsa was amazing. They give you homemade tortilla chips with that salsa and it's bomb! We ordered the molecaje and queso fundido. Also amazing. They had the dodger game on and it was a bit noisy but overall a fun time with great food. I can't wait to go back!”

“Ecuamex is one superb cafe out here in SELA, Downey to be exact. This coffee shop is the perfect alternative to try to a good cup of coffee that doesn't come from a franchise. Their drinks are always made with the best quality and thinking of their customers. I love all of their drinks; their staple, Ecuamex is a must and my fave, Topochico cold brew is a perfect refresher. Here, in the picture you have a Cafe de Olla which is the perfect introduction to this Cafe.”

“We have been to this location multiple times and always enjoy ourselves. The space is open, well-lit, and spacious. In addition, there are tons of TVs and we usually get great service. The staff will remember us and go out of their way to say hi, and on one occasion, the manager (shoutout to Juan) got Peacock so that we could watch the Notre Dame game! We enjoy coming here and will continue to do so - it is definitely the best place to be if you are going to watch sports, listen to great music, and enjoy cold beer/good food.”
