“Shot out to M&D West African Cuisine for some of the best okra soup I’ve had thus far! Packed with flavor and well seasoned. The staff was friendly, warm and welcoming. You can tell their food was made with love. I’m definitely coming back❤️“

“We had burgers and fries close to closing. Best hamburger we have eaten in several years the fries were also quite good. Service was friendly and explained my few questions. The large fry had a lot more yummy fries than expected. Will definitely be back.“

“My first time trying Venezuelan cuisine! Wow! I want more! I had a chicken empanada and fried plantains. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce! OMG! and the plantains were out of this world! If you're in Gainesville, I highly recommend giving this a try! You won't be disappointed!“

“Honestly great experience. They squeezed us in even though it was busy and we didn’t have a reservation. They warned us service would be slow but it wasn’t. Everything was great. The food was phenomenal and I love the whole vibe in there. The owner even came over to check in and was the sweetest. Would recommend and will be back.“

“Got the sikadelic (probably spelled that wrong) mushroom burger and it was soo good! The mushrooms were seasoned well and the vegan cheese melted nicely. Definitely would get it again. Staff were friendly and gave recommendations. They were parked outside of the Azalea Brewing Co, which also had a very chill vibe and had good beers.“
“I went there quite some time ago, but wanted to give credit where credit is due. I can't wait to check out their new vibe on 'Cuban Corner' in Gainesville.I went there specifically for the Cuban sandwich, as I do Cubano reviews on YouTube (goofy, I know, but I love these things!). This, IMO, is the top ranked Cubano in the Gainesville area, or maybe even this north/central Florida region. Sandwich was fantastic. Pork was delicious, bread was nice and thin with a solid press (key!). They got this Cubano thing down. Highly recommend. Not sure the link will work from Yelp, but here is a video of my review, if interested (spoiler alert- I scored it an 8.4, which is currently tied for my #1 Cubano on my made up Cubano review scale): youtu.be/Bvn4Bs979c8“

“We love Charlie's snow shack! Much better than pelicans or Kona ice the shaved ice here is so smooth it's like Italian ice. Lots of flavors and add ins to choose from, something for everyone for sure. The staff is very friendly and knows just what to recommend!“

“The food was so good, and I don't even like barbecue. We had been seeing them on the corner of 13th street for ages before finally succumbing to the delicious, tantalizing smells. We had the ribs with original barbecue and two sides (rice and macncheese), a chicken sandwich with jerk sauce, and a Pineapple Lemonade. Again, coming from someone that doesn't like barbecue typically because of the smoked aspect, they are doing something damn right with the way they smoke their meats. The meat is still tender, juicy, and flavorful. The Pineapple Lemonade tastes like pineapple upside down cake in liquid form - it's gold, but if you're looking for something more tart and lemony, it probably wouldn't be your style because it's SWEET. Tangy, but very, very sweet. The only setbacks were the fact that I could've used a little bit more seasoning on the rice and macncheese - the meat had flavor, but the sides seemed to lack a little. However I will say that the sides had the best textures I have ever had for macncheese and rice. Along with that, I wish we saw some different bread, like maybe some Texas style toast for the chicken sandwich. Regardless, this was an absolutely A+ meal and we look forward to trying more menu items and frequenting their truck!“

“The food here is sooo amazing. My friend and I had it for the first time today, and we will definitely be going back. Our sandwich was amazing and the fries were perfect. They also gave us samples of the bonuts, and they’re incredible. The service great, pretty quick to get our food ready and super friendly. I love this place so much, I can’t believe I didn’t know about it sooner.Vegetarian options: Tofu sandwiches.“

“Came here for late lunch w the family. Cute lil outside food truck place with picnic tables and chairs everywhere. Looks like it is a fun hangout. I had the chicken gyro from Scoula and it was very good. Tzatziki sauce was yum. Baklava was weird and so wet. I wasn't a fan. I also had the pale ale beer and it was great. My bf has the food from Nopal. carnitas tacos. The bite I took was good and he seemed to like it. Yuca fries were delish. Mexican street corn was gross. Sour and did not taste like any elote I've ever had. Pass on it. My daughter ate at plantology and did not like the food. Everything had a smoky flavor. The Mac n cheese wasn't too bad. She had bbq Mac n cheese and didn't like it. They were nice enough to change it for Cesar chicken wrap. She didn't like it either. Can't please em all. I'm not a fan of fake meat so I don't blame her but the people were super nice.“

“Si no quieres extrañar esos platos típicos puertorriqueños, como el mofongo, arroz con gandules, carne frita, empanadillas caseras, entre otros, Gainesville es la respuesta. No solo el chef es carismático, sino que su comida es súper deliciosa. ¡Food Truck #1!“

“Saw xclusive eats at a gas station and the truck alone had me interested. Had to ask them where they were gonna be and I’m glad I did. I got the shrimp and lobster and wasn’t disappointed. I also got a watermelon lemonade and it was amazing too. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. Highly recommended!“

“I have been driving by this taco stand on US 441 for the past month or so, and each time it has intrigued me... except that the time was always wrong. But now I have finally had the opportunity, and it was definitely worth it! Typically parked next to the old Hollander's Hydraulics building, this taco stand has been operating in the parking lot for the past month, and appears to be doing quite well. They now have their own porta-potty, mostly for themselves but I would assume guests would be able to use it as well if needed. Access from both sides of the road is easy enough as well as there is a cross-over of 441 right at the entrance to the parking lot. Their menu has all the regular things you would expect with a variety of meats... tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, and tostadas. I went with an order of tacos and a burrito. Now, I have found that tacos have become a bit over-hyped, and therefore expensive for what you get. This was the case as well... while the tacos are good, I just found them to be a bit pricey for what you get. You definitely get a better bang for the buck when it comes to the burrito, and I was quite happy with it. When it comes to ambiance, well... it is a taco truck on the side of the road. There is plenty of parking, but nowhere to sit, so this is purely a grab and go kind of place for the time being. Perhaps as they become more established in the location they will have a chance to put out some picnic tables or something so people can sit outside and eat their meals. I will be returning when the timing is right, as it is on the way home for me!“

“The experience was good. Great service and the food was amazing a little overly seasoned (I had shrimp tacos) but I'd rather have a little too much seasoning than non at all.Parking: There's not many places to park and might be difficult to get out but, there's never more than atleast 5 people there at a time so it's not overly crowded.“

“I went to Nopal on a Tuesday evening after work with some colleagues. Taco Tuesday was in full effect and I got four tacos for $3.50 each: pork belly, pescado (breaded white fish), carne asada, and barbacoa. The pork belly was the best of the four. It was tough to choose from their menu, which was an eclectic mix of classic tacos, enchalas, and tortas, but also out of the box items such as the birria noodle bowl and Nopal shrimp scampi plato. The restaurant had a rustic, laid back atmosphere, and our server was very attentive to our large party. I am looking forward to going back soon.“

“This restaurant is extremely local to this nice city of ours. Had the Molcajete Fajita, didn't expect to actually get nopales (for the uninitiated: a type of cactus.) as it was mentioned, they dont always have it on hand. First of all the food was a MASSIVE portion, Absolutely amazing flavors. There are few Mexican places in this city that really keep up with the genuinely authentic taste. The staff here are surprisingly attentive, within about 5 minutes of finishing my food, two separate staff offered me a to-go box. I must say I don't prefer the very vibrant colors and designs when it comes to the booths and tables, but there's no doubt that each piece can be considered art. Many other reviews mentioned poor food presentation? but I didn't see a that myself. Food looked divine, I've attached a picture to reference this. Only disappointment was prices don't quite match the online comparisons I had found, roughly abt 5$ more on average compared to online menus.“

“I first had Germain’s during an event that they catered. I do not claim to know if they still offer catering but you’re going to want to visit their 8th Ave location in Gainesville FL either way. Get a sandwich and fries. They also served water in glass bottles that you are free to take to your chosen table. They’re in a plaza with several other businesses. A record shop, Sunshine Records, a second hand shop called Flashbacks and just across a split parking lot is local gem that offers brunch and I believe more, Afternoon. Cypress & Grove is across the way and Serpentine is a kickass plant shop. As downtown Gainesville has expanded, some sweet spots are outside of University and Main. Take a chance and wander, there’s a huge arcade across from Germain’s called Bragging Rights, make an afternoon and enjoy yourself. Parking is ample. See ya out there.“
