My first time trying Venezuelan cuisine! Wow! I want more! I had a chicken empanada and fried plantains. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce! OMG! and the plantains were out of this world! If you're in Gainesville, I highly recommend giving this a try! You won't be disappointed!
Can not tell you what amazing things my taste buds experienced with my first Shredded Pork Patacones. I had already ordered my standard empanadas, but I wanted to try something outside of my comfort zone. They suggested a Patacones with my favorite meat. I got it with the plantain grilled. Even my hubby who is half latin and doesn't like plantains (I had to force him to try a bite) raved about this sandwich and stole my leftovers!! We will be back ASAP!

La Maracucha Restaurant & Crêperie offers delicious and authentic traditional cuisine. The food is made fresh and comes out hot, with generous portions. Popular menu items include the ground beef empanada, which is homemade, well-seasoned, and features moist, flavorful dough. The Patacon Maracucha, Aguita e’ Sapo Arepa, and chicken empanada are also highly recommended, noted for being crispy and delicious. The burger is described as genuinely the best, with a perfect amount of sauce and ingredients. For dessert, the Chicha is very thick and creamy, almost like a pudding, and the restaurant serves a large variety of ice creams and other desserts like the cachapa and tequeños.
The atmosphere is cozy and sensory-friendly, with a calm feeling during the day. Lively Spanish music, specifically reggaeton, plays, creating a befittingly Latin vibe. The restaurant is very clean, well-located, and easy to find next to Bank of America, though parking can be tricky.
Service is consistently praised as kind, friendly, and excellent, with the owner being very accommodating. The staff ensures customers have everything they need and are happy to talk about menu options. The experience is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys Spanish music and traditional cuisine.
