We showed up to the restaurant without reservation and they found us a nice table in less than 5 minutes. The service was outstanding We haven't had this kind of service in many years. “My wife and I just went there for Valentines Day 2023, this being our second time. Ordered two Chardonnays, very good wine, I need the name :). I had Mussels in Fra Diavalo sauce that was excellent. Kim had Alfredo with chicken which she said was very good. We both had salads as sides, mine with one of the best Blue Cheese dressings I have ever had in a restaurant! My wife had Ranch and said it was delicious. We topped off the evening by splitting a Tiramisu that was wonderful! Most certainly going back again!!“

“I have always had perfect meals at Marks. However, tonight I had a problem that could not be ignored. I ordered my filet medium. When I cut into it, I saw that it was clearly medium-well, on its way to well done while I wait for the waiter to check back on us. I called his attention to my overcooked steak and he disagreed with me, saying "it looks Medium to me". I pointed out to him that people on both sides of me had medium filets and they were nice and red and juicy, while mine looked dry and gray. Then, to make matters worse, he said "Just try eating some of it from the middle and then let me know if you want me to put on another one for you". Excuse me, I just did complain and now you want me to complain again after a few more bites? So apparently I was not going to get what I ordered unless I complained again in front of all my friends and the whole restaurant. I am sorry, but when I am paying $58 for a 10oz piece of meat, it better be cooked the way I like it, PERIOD. If a customer is dissatisfied in any way, the staff should remedy the situation immediately and NOT put the customer on the spot. So, you have been warned! BTW, I drowned my filet with demi-glase and ate the whole dry and underseasoned thing! I am sure we will be back and try it again in hopes my steak will be cooked as ordered.“

“I grew up in Miami Alapada. I have been eating here since I moved to Ocala 20 years ago. Definitely the closest you are going to get to what I would consider home. In nort central Fl.
The owner is awesome. But sometimes you get some young new blood as the cashier that's less then friendly. But hey that's life. Overall great food, good environment. Been going there for 18 of the 20 years I've been here. It's for good reason . Most small restaurants open and close. This one has withstood the test of time.“

“We have tried the Cody’s in Ocala 4 times. I must say not interested in going back. The service stinks, the last time, we sat at the booth no one came over . People sat down after us, waited on order put in. Still no one lots of servers walking around doing nothing but talking. I finally had to stop someone and ask , found out our table did not have a server. Still no excuse, not one server stopped and inquired just walked right by us. They need better training.
