“To say I was pleasantly surprised walking into Gahwa Café would be a HUGE understatement. While visiting Jacksonville for a long weekend for a weekend seminar I searched for things to do and asked for recommendations. When I was directed to and excited to try a Turkish Coffee experience I sought out Gahwa Café. At first I had a group of 5-8 who set out to join me and one by one they altered their plans until I ended up going on my own.

Strategically arriving at a non peak hour Sunday late afternoon I was greeted by the owner and operator as I walked in. A brief introduction and taking perch at the bar I realized I was the only guest, I ordered a double per the owner’s recommendation and some baklava. We exchanged a few polite pleasantries and as I enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere while my coffee cooled I settled in to enjoy the space and company for all they offered.

All of this said, I came to thoroughly explore and experience the legendary delicacy of Turkish Coffee and Arabic Tastes and hospitality.

I was not disappointed.

It was an honor and absolute pleasure to meet and talk with Husham, the owner, as I experienced my first sample of his culture. I was delighted to find a kindred spirit in this dear man and our conversation carried us through the vast corners of everything that is, was, and could be as we only scratched the surface of life’s intricacies while the depth of our discussions grew. The coffee and pastries were delicacies in their own right, however I will return at next opportunity to visit a new friend.

Husham is the real deal, authentic in his being and his generous hospitality knows no bound. My only regret is that my home is so many hours away as I would absolutely carve the time to visit more regularly if possible.

He has curated a beautiful space for special occasions and small gatherings and I hope those who may truly appreciate its beauty will do so often.

I look forward to returning and bringing friends with me. I’ll be sure not to be in a hurry and look forward to making the most of this gem of a Cafe.“

“Absolutely incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, the aroma of fresh-baked bread set the tone. The food was outstanding. Everything tasted homemade and crafted with care, especially the whole grain loaf and the cinnamon chip bread. You can tell they use high quality ingredients.

The service was just as impressive. The staff was warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable, offering great suggestions and samples without rushing. They really made me feel like a valued guest.

“Bold Bean in Jax Beach is everything you want in a local coffee shop—exceptional drinks, genuine people, and a true sense of community. On a recent visit, their AC had gone out, but instead of missing a beat, the team rallied. They moved service outdoors, stayed upbeat, and created a welcoming space for everyone despite the heat. It was effortless hospitality and teamwork in action.

I’m completely obsessed with their matcha tea—it’s perfectly balanced, and their homemade vanilla extract syrup takes it to another level. Smooth, fragrant, and not too sweet. Honestly, I’d drive out of my way for it.

“Had the curry chicken salad wrap which was good but had too much lettuce. The garbanzo bean and veggie side salad was nice. Two kids had the açaí bowls and both agreed there was too much granola and not enough fruit. Other kid had the bagel with bacon breakfast sandwich which he enjoyed.“

“This place has the most yummy food. I got a Mediterranean salad the first time I came, and it was so delicious. Everyone else got sandwiches, and the next time we came we just got desserts which were some of the best we’ve ever had. It’s a beautiful building with lovely details everywhere, it feels like a mix between a special occasion and a family sandwich place, and an elite dessert cafe.“

“We live on the north side so OMG is a little out of the way for us, but their honeydew flavour is the best in town!! It reminds me of the milk teas I used to get in Hawaii. The owners there are the nicest people and they take care of their regular customers. They also serve food that we have yet to try but we often see other customers waiting for orders so it must be good. If you are looking for something different you should give them a try.“

“Most excellent place. I have dined here multiple times and it has always always been great. Also, if you’re a cream soda fan,like I am, they have it in 2 flavors- pineapple and vanilla. Try the spaghetti pie- you’ll be back for another. Smiles galore with your dining experience.“

“The Gluten Free menu is at the check out counter, just ask. It also had vegan and vegetarian marked. Most of the menu can be made GF . You order at a counter then they give you a tracker for your table to deliver your food. Lots of tables with outlets. Nice place to stay between appointments. Burger was dry but it was bison. GF bread was good. Price very reasonable.“

“I have been meaning to come here for a while now and decided to use my birthday as the perfect excuse to go on a much needed lunch date with my husband. The quiet and calm vibe was exactly what my mama heart needed. I am more of a tea drinker than a coffee drinker so I was excited about trying some tea that wasn’t made in my microwave at home. 🤪 I went with the Boston because I prefer fruity black teas. It was delicious and we ended up drinking the whole pot! For lunch I went with a salad with a scoop of chicken salad and my husband got a salad with a cup of tomato soup. It was all so yummy! This is the perfect place to eat and relax before or after a nice walk on the beach. Will definitely be back!!“

I checked the bag when I got home realizing one item was missing from my order, I was worried I would be forced to drive back, and I was too tired for all that. I am 100% understanding when it comes to mistakes ? we all make them.

I called the location, explained the situation, and he offered a refund right there over the phone!! Other restaurants not offering this option, I was very satisfied with the service I received, and I got my money back on my card within a few days!“

“Came here while in Jacksonville and seeing family friends. Enjoyed their salad, but our food took ages and many of parties food was cold. Customer service was okay, server was respectful but forgot some instructions we gave. Beautiful restaurant.
