“My application to adopt is pending, but so far, so good. Frisky Cafe's "Carla" contacted me the on day following receipt of my application-- e.g., the most prompt response of all rescue orgs., by far. With respect to the critical reviews for Carla-- they do NOT ring true. It was clear, per my extended conversation with her, that she was as generous with her time and patience as she was attentive and compassion-ate re: the welfare of her wards. Her questions and concerns re: my interest in adopting were most appropriate and reasonable -- and it was evident and clear that the welfare of her feline wards was her priority-- e.g., she would not go gently into allowing any kitten or cat to be adopted in haste, and released to a family or home not entirely-appropriate//suitable for the candidate adoptee. I assume it's possible that the individual(s) who've posted negative reviews-- taking issue with Carla's levels of experience, diligence, and caring -- have motivations, interests and "agendas" that conflicted with the best options for the feline adoption candidates. That noted, it was clear to me (based on Carla's questions and con-cerns, that her head (and heart) is in the right place. I'll be visiting the Frisky Cat Cafe this morning-- and I have no reservations about being open to her judgment and opinions.“

“Ok, so it has been a while since I did a review. This summer I am starting a blog on biscuits and gravy. So today my fiancée and I decided to enjoy the day in St Augustine. I made a post on 904Eats on facebook and asked for a place between Jax and Aug on HWY 1. I got The Spot Cafe. I ordered the southern comfort, biscuits, and gravy with chicken between them. Came with eggs and home-style potatoes. It was so good. When I start my biscuits and gravy blog (summer 2025). I will be sure to add this place. The biscuits were fluffy and most. The gravy just needed a little more pepper for my taste. On my blog scale, I will give it a 9.5 out of 10. Views going on Yelp, Google Review, and my blog page coming soon.“

“I’m a regular here, usually stopping by Monday mornings around 8am on my way to work. I love this place—the coffee is great, and the cozy vibe inside makes it a perfect start to my day. The only issue I’ve run into during my last four visits is with the QR code scanning. I use a prepaid gift card on my app, and it often takes about five minutes to get it to work. Hopefully this can be smoothed out so the checkout process is as enjoyable as everything else here!“

“My husband and I stopped in on a recommendation for their sandwiches. We walked into heaven and had a grand experience of tastebud delight. You can’t talk like this until you experience it for yourself. It’s a MUST stop my husband says and I agree. The selection of sandwiches was limited when we arrived and we tried two and both were a 10 out of 10!!!! The hours are most days 7a to 2p: recommended to get there earlier for more options but it doesn’t really matter. Try whatever is available. We had a chocolate dessert with meringue inside! My husband had a latte and I a hot chocolate. All Delicious!! There was water available in the dining area which was a nice added touch. The cleanliness of this cafe is meticulously cared for. Magnificent 😘“

“We are not locals but this will be a must go to whenever we are in St. Augustine. All the staff were wonderful. Met the owners, chatted a bit and they are wonderful people. Food is great, wonderful view, covered and open dining with a great view of the river. Live music was the best.“

“Staff acts like they are doing you a favor by existing. The food is poorly constructed garbage. The wait time is long, which is worth it for good decent food, but not here. Served an egg sandwhich with not even enough egg to cover 1/2 of one piece of toast. Asked for another egg, was refused. The woman then walked into the kitchen right next to us and starting talking negatively about me knowing I could hear. I was with my 4 and 7 year old and my daughter noticed it. She has a reputation in town for being nasty. She assumes you are a tourist and doesnt care about the quality of her product because she counts on you not coming back to the town anyway. She already has your money, who cares if you had good service or decent food. The bathrooms are as gross as the way you are treated as a patron. Read all the reviews SOOOO many are people having the same experience!“

“I'm partial because every time my Mom & I went to St Augustine when I was growing up, we ate at The Spanish Bakery. I always got the sausage roll. Many years later, I live in another state and she is no longer with us. I was in St Augstine last Saturday and I had a one track mind that I was going to come here and get a sausage roll. I got the last one. It was perfect, exactly what I needed, and only $7, which is amazing. Some places will charge half that just for a bottle of water. This place is unique institution on St George St.“
