The Spanish Bakery has been around for as long as I can remember. They always had good empanadas, bread, picadillo, and cookies. I tried the chicken empanadas for the first time and was surprised at how thick the dough was and how flavorless the filling was. The picadillo was ordered by my daughter and husband. My husband and I were in St Augustine taking in the sights. We decided to get lunch and happened upon this little gem of a cafe tucked behind the pedestrian walkway. What a wonderful meal we had! Veggie empanadas, butternut squash soup, salad, beans and rice, and a roll. It was all amazing, but that butternut squash soup was my favorite!
