Taquería Merlo is a Mexican restaurant and market. 100% authentic. One of the most popular spots in the Avon Park area. The food is delicious and made from scratch when ordered. Since it is so popular you may have to wait a while for your food but it's worth it. The one problem is the parking lot. Was great food. It's just a little slow & and prices are a little high. Flautas were good, but they charge extra for rice or refried beans. Tamales were great.Parking: Need more space for parking. Just a small alley like space. Need to expand & Need to fix road.

This place has the best authentic Mexican food in Avon Park. If you’re not sure about what to order ask to see the menu. The only thing is you have to walk up and order at the counter and wait for your order to be called. But very worth it!
