“Sumo opened in Boca Raton, FL during Covid in 2019. The letters on the strip mall in Mission Bay read 'Sumo Sushi'. Not being a fan of sushi, I avoided going in...until today, when I was looking for an alternative to my usual hangouts. Erica greeted us at the door and welcomed us in. I ordered the Temura Chicken and Vegetables and my friend ordered the Teriyaki Cicken. The salad that we selected as our starter was fresh, crisp, and flavorful with a sweet ginger dressing, and our meals were perfect. Erica was personable, attentive, and witty, providing exceptional service. The dining room was clean and so was the sushi bar and the restroom. There are only 7 tables in this establishment and the sushi bar has seating. If you haven't noticed this place because it's set back in a corner of the mall, and you like quality Japanese food, you should give them a try. I'm happy I did and I can assure you that we will be returning. The tempura was some of the best I'd ever tasted. It's my new favorite dish!“

Don’t miss the cocktails as well, which are also discounted; the Cherry Blossom Old Fashioned and Nashi Mule were expertly crafted, all made with fresh house made syrups and with unique twists. Although not part of Happy Hour, we treated ourselves to most delicious chocolate mousse and ganache dessert that I’m still drooling over. I will be definitely be back.“

“We call this place home. It’s one of the best Thai restaurants in the area. Our whole family loved it. The food is so fresh and tasty. The service is fast and they are so kind. Especially Mina. She always makes us feel so welcomed. My husband lived in Thailand for 3 years and he says this is the only place that makes him feel like he is back there. Highly recommended!“

“I was so excited to try the Japanese Bocce Club during our stay at the Boca Raton! We made a reservation for 9:00 P.M. and it was PACKED. There was a wait time, but nothing too extreme. The design is beautiful, and the couches were extremely comfortable, but it was pretty loud which made it difficult to hear. Nothing came out notably fast, but I was never wondering what happened to our order. The food itself was EXCEPTIONAL and greatly exceeded my expectations. We tried a variety of things and they were all scrumptious! I highly recommend the Glazed Sticky BBQ Ribs (or something like that). They were packed with flavour, and the BBQ sauce was amazing! All of the appetizers, sushi, and desserts were great, but the miso soup was a little salty for my taste. Overall, this restaurant was delicious and I highly recommend! “So our family (well kids to be specific) has always had a tradition of going out to Hibachi for birthdays. For years we were going to Saitos on Lyons and Glades then they closed down. Honestly was never my favorite, but tradition is tradition. So we moved on to Benihana’s. Well don’t be fooled by the name. Their food and particularly their service was waaay below PAR. Anyways getting to the point, we wanted to try a new spot and stumbled on Saiko-I. From the first few minutes after being seated we could already tell the dramatic difference. The service was on point. Drinks served immediately, appetizers and meals ordered shortly after. Then came the chef. He was fun, entertaining, funny and efficient. The food was probably the best hibachi I’ve had. None of the one item at a time nonsense you get at the other places. And they used much less of the butter and other garbage they throw in at other spots. At the end of our meal we complemented the GM and she went out of her way to make our business feel appreciated. The staff here was friendly, classy and fun, and the food was amazing. Found our new spot! No this is not a solicited review, I was just super impressed with this place. “Had my first experience last night for dinner, with my father (89 years young who is now eating with me in many sushi restaurants). Dad thoroughly enjoyed the egg drop soup and chicken teriyaki with vegetable fried rice! I had a fab roll (name: Rene Roll) with tuna tartare! The restaurant is conveniently located at Powerline and Palmetto near LA fitness. Such a beautiful and very clean environment with music and the Manager, Albert, was very welcoming and accommodating to our dietary needs. “My friends took me here for my bday lunch. Interesting choice of spot next to Chipotle but it was a cool experience and it starts right away when we’re seated. I honestly don’t remember all the dish we ate but all I remembered that it was goooood and each melted in my mouth. Great choices by the chefs! Don’t expect to be super filled but rather content. Loved the presentation. Service was attentive as well. Maybe I’ll go for dinner one day… after I work an overtime shift.“

“I ended up going at their least busy time (12pm on Saturday) so it ended up being fairly dead. Since I was by myself and wanted Hibachi, I got seated with another party of two at the grill. They definitely lean heavily into the show aspect of Hibachi during the initial prep of the meal, although it was mostly done once they got to the rice.

The meal itself ended up tasting pretty good and the sauces went well with it. I would recommend a light amount of the sour sauce (ponzu?) for the broccoli and the yumyum sauce for everything else (especially the rice and meat).“
