One of the BEST around. Check out their little store in the back too. Their quesp is the BEST in town! Nothing like sitting on the patio during the fall weather. Friendly Staff! Clean bathrooms.
I've been hunting for an authentic Mexican restaurant since we moved to Florida 1 year ago. This is it. We ate here on a Monday night, and the restaurant was packed and had plenty of take out meals going out the door. The quality of the food was equivalent to El Fagon in Playa del Carmen, my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant (if you've ever been there you know what I'm talking about!) La Tienda offers an authentic and delightful Mexican dining experience with a beautiful look of the culture. The service is excellent, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu features a wide variety of flavorful dishes, including the popular pescado tacos that provide a truly euphoric dining experience. Guests have enjoyed chips with queso, a quesabirria quesadilla, and flan, all praised for being really delicious. The venue is clean and basic, with a charming atmosphere and football playing on TV. La Tienda is noted for good portion sizes and has tons of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, including corn tortillas. Despite a few minor observations, such as the limited number of tortillas provided and slightly higher prices, La Tienda consistently delivers a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience, making it a go-to spot in Gainesville. It also offers plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor, and is wheelchair accessible.
