“We just finished our take out meal and I had to immediately write a review. We had an amazing dinner. Started with a bar pretzel and a salad and a quesadilla. Then I asked the server what the specials of the day were and my favorite - short rib with polenta and brussels sprouts was one of the choices! AMAZING!!! I cannot recommend this meal more highly. Everything was delicious but the short rib was beyond delicious. Taste is an awesome local restaurant and we have eaten there many times but tonight their take out was outstanding.“

“A good friend of mine recommended this place, we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly by the owner who is from Paris. Our server was also French, she was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had the pompano special and the filet mignon which were both outstanding. It was such an authentic experience, our new go to restaurant!“

“I took my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. They put on the menu's "Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary (parents names)" which absolutely made their night.The ambience was perfect. Intimate with no loud distractions and we could hear each other talk.We did a chefs tastings where they bring out 5 courses that the chef picks out for each individual. Let me tell you they hit it perfect for all three of us. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked (from grilled octopus to scallops to crab), the lamb chops were tender and just incredible. That doesn't mention the pastas and the desserts that all were equally amazing.As for value, I'm new to the area, but where I'm from (Central Florida) this would easily be double the price there for quality and the amount of food. So, for me, this was a bargain.I can't thank the staff enough for making my parents night. Everything was fantastic!“

“We ate al fresco at this cafe and had a great meal. A lovely salad of salmon, strawberries and greens was scrumptious. The shrimp sliders were also out of the world. But the pice de resistance was the bread pudding dessert. The server was warm, friendly and hospitable.“

“I'm writing this review to help the business but I fear opening Pandora's box on this restaurant for selfish reasons. I have had two experiences here now - this establishment is an experience as much as it is a meal - and despite my lofty expectations following the first visit, the second blew me out of the water. It took a majority of the meal just to come down from the euphoria brought about by the food, and the balance of the meal was spent discussing happy childhood memories and other things you talk about when food brings you to an such an ecstatic place. I cannot steer you toward any individual dish; this is your experience, but it's one you must have. I feel I must share just a little as I've never felt such an emotional response to such things as pappardelle or yellowtail snapper (market catch) or tiramisu. R&J is an enchanted place, a special place, one that you will always remember. Just don't tell too many people. So excited for my next visit.“

On weekends, I would recommend to have a reservation if you will be dining in. “My husband and I did High Tea for Valentine’s Day and it was lovely! The soups (Butternut Squash and Tomato Roasted red pepper soup) were delicious! This was followed by a green salad and then a tiered tray of finger sandwiches and pastries. The cost ($22 a person) was very reasonable and we were both well satisfied with what we ate. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect, ornate and whimsical. It is located within a jewelry store and the owner and staff is friendly and full of wonderful stories of among other things, High Tea with the Queen. Definitely recommend this quaint tea room and will be back to try some of the a la cart dishes!“

“Beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. It is VERY busy and the parking is really a mess. I had the filet tenderloins and my husband had stuffed shrimp. Both were very good. The baked potatoes were the best we’ve ever had. Make a reservation. You can see the lighthouse from the restaurant.“

“It was my birthday dinner, and I'd been to the same old Italian restaurants in the area but wanted something new. Carmela's is not really new to me...but I kind of forgot about it. It's been probably 4 years since my last visit, but I used to go there all the time. The pizza is phenomenal...they are known widely for their Grandma pizza, which is a thin crust Sicilian pie...very large and extremely delicious. I had one with eggplant last night, and it was fantastic. I don't quite know what kind of mozzarella they use, but it sure beats any other pizza joint--it has a fresh and creamy taste that you just don't find elsewhere. The same can be said for the pasta dish I had (I know...just how much carb-loading can one person do--but it was my birthday!) I ordered the Shrimp Angelica, a great dish of rotini, artichokes, red peppers, mushrooms, and shrimp--all in a very light cream sauce. No heavy, gluey Alfredo sauce here, I don't know where they're getting their dairy products, but keep it up! The difference in taste is quite noticeable between the mozzarella on the pizza and the cream in the pasta sauce. Maybe there's a dairy cow out back, I don't know. What I do know is it's a great small place with an excellent menu. It fills up quickly, so either get there early or you might have to wait. Prices are very reasonable, and it's a warm atmosphere. The only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that the rotini was a tad over cooked. Al dente works best in pasta dishes. Try it...you'll like it.“
