“Great steak, and sides. Aged porterhouse is the way to go. The onion strings are perfect. This is the best steak restaurant in Florida. The aged steak is comparable to Peter Lugers, except they are very nice here, unlike the rude Peter Lugers staff. The owner used to work there and has the best steaks and sauce. This is a place to celebrate.“

“I took my parents here for their 50th wedding anniversary. They put on the menu's "Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary (parents names)" which absolutely made their night.The ambience was perfect. Intimate with no loud distractions and we could hear each other talk.We did a chefs tastings where they bring out 5 courses that the chef picks out for each individual. Let me tell you they hit it perfect for all three of us. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked (from grilled octopus to scallops to crab), the lamb chops were tender and just incredible. That doesn't mention the pastas and the desserts that all were equally amazing.As for value, I'm new to the area, but where I'm from (Central Florida) this would easily be double the price there for quality and the amount of food. So, for me, this was a bargain.I can't thank the staff enough for making my parents night. Everything was fantastic!“
“We don't generally go out to a lot of Italian restaurants anymore.Because the sauce usually doesn't live up to what we grew up with... My wife's first bite and she is Sicilian and Calabrese, was a smile and the word AMAZING!! We both grew up in Italian Families comprised of immigrants. Eating here and meeting with Vincenzo. And his wife brought us back to that time period the food is amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. Vincenzo and his wife and the entire staff are phenomenal. I've been 2x, once with son for dinner & once with friend for lunch.. fantastic both times....Staff was excellent... as well as food ... we had burgers, fries, salad, an appetizer etc... everything was top tier... I'm not a beer drinker, but my son loved the selections. They have an upstairs room & I hope they can use more... game night anyone?“
“We ate al fresco at this cafe and had a great meal. A lovely salad of salmon, strawberries and greens was scrumptious. The shrimp sliders were also out of the world. But the pice de resistance was the bread pudding dessert. The server was warm, friendly and hospitable.“

There was live music, perfect volume and song selection, very enjoyable. Our server, Alfredo was delightful! He truly was the heart of our experience, what a sweet man! “My husband and I did High Tea for Valentine’s Day and it was lovely! The soups (Butternut Squash and Tomato Roasted red pepper soup) were delicious! This was followed by a green salad and then a tiered tray of finger sandwiches and pastries. The cost ($22 a person) was very reasonable and we were both well satisfied with what we ate. The atmosphere was exactly what you would expect, ornate and whimsical. It is located within a jewelry store and the owner and staff is friendly and full of wonderful stories of among other things, High Tea with the Queen. Definitely recommend this quaint tea room and will be back to try some of the a la cart dishes!“

“It was my birthday dinner, and I'd been to the same old Italian restaurants in the area but wanted something new. Carmela's is not really new to me...but I kind of forgot about it. It's been probably 4 years since my last visit, but I used to go there all the time. The pizza is phenomenal...they are known widely for their Grandma pizza, which is a thin crust Sicilian pie...very large and extremely delicious. I had one with eggplant last night, and it was fantastic. I don't quite know what kind of mozzarella they use, but it sure beats any other pizza joint--it has a fresh and creamy taste that you just don't find elsewhere. The same can be said for the pasta dish I had (I know...just how much carb-loading can one person do--but it was my birthday!) I ordered the Shrimp Angelica, a great dish of rotini, artichokes, red peppers, mushrooms, and shrimp--all in a very light cream sauce. No heavy, gluey Alfredo sauce here, I don't know where they're getting their dairy products, but keep it up! The difference in taste is quite noticeable between the mozzarella on the pizza and the cream in the pasta sauce. Maybe there's a dairy cow out back, I don't know. What I do know is it's a great small place with an excellent menu. It fills up quickly, so either get there early or you might have to wait. Prices are very reasonable, and it's a warm atmosphere. The only reason for 4 stars, not 5, is that the rotini was a tad over cooked. Al dente works best in pasta dishes. Try it...you'll like it.“
