“Great food and views of the lake”

“Nicker's is a slam dunk quick getaway for us since we live so close by. We stopped in on a Thursday about 1 and were immediately seated by a window. Nicker's has a gorgeous view overlooking the Mission Resort's golf course and lake.

My wife ordered the Swiss burger with sweet potato fries (no upcharge!), and I had the Cuban sandwich with regular fries. Everything came out in a reasonable time. My wife really enjoyed her burger and fries. I thought my Cuban would have benefited from less ham and more carnitas, but it was still delicious.

Our server, Lydia, was friendly and attentive, and everything met our expectations. Considering that Nicker's is part of the Mission Resort, the prices are decent. Enjoy!”

“Great views, excellent service and food. Best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. Filet and sides were delicious. Ordered the Quilt cab, outstanding. Grand Marnier crème broulet was a wonderful ending.”

“We had a Cob Salad with chicken, served in a large bowl, all of the fixings that go with a cob salad where on the bottom of the lettuce. My husband who ordered the same salad didn't get any bacon. , both salads had very tuff chicken. Very dissapointed for a meal that cost us $72.00 for salads. We did have chicken wings too, they where over cooked. We where with another couple and they said their meals where okay. All os us have been there before and the meals are always okay, but not great. We'll keep trying...”

“We've been going to Mary's semi-regularly for breakfast, for about 6 months now. It can't be topped. We finally went in the other day for a lunch..and got the burgers. Not gonna lie, that was the best burger I've had in 8 years of living in Florida! Mine, my wife's, and my son's were all perfection. My other son got the chicken tenders...he said they were fantastic. MUST TRY!!!”

“I reached out to the folks at Minneola Inn to ask about their boat rentals. They had us out on the boat next day for an amazing day on the water! The boat had everything we needed and Todd gave us amazing directions to navigate the lakes and also some good fishing and swimming! We went out for the morning, came back for some amazing lunch and yummy drinks, and then went out for the rest of the day before returning around 5! We can’t wait to come back next year! Got the two-meat combo, ribs and chicken. The ribs? Phenomenal! Tender, full of flavor. Chicken was solid too, scrumptious! People are awesome, like eating at at relatives. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and you definitely won’t leave hungry. If you're in town and craving BBQ, Willie’s is a no-brainer. 😋🔥”

“The best cheesecake and cookies I have found since leaving Atlanta! I am not sure what kind of magical deliciousness they put in their cheesecake but, their Oreo cheesecake is 10/10. I will be back!

“I ate here for the first time today. The cheesesteak panini was delicious. If I hadn’t know it was gluten free bread I definitely wouldn’t have guessed. My husband got the Putine and loved it too. I would highly recommend their food even if gf isn’t required for you.”

“I have been coming here since they've opened and love their food. However, I am very disheartened lately how their cook Olden (I believe is his name) treats the other staff. He tends to get overwhelmed by tickets or special requests. When I've experienced this happening he seems as though he gets stressed out. Then he lashes out on the other staff around him, especially the owner's mother who works the register. I've experienced this on multiple occasions and it's frustrating to see. I love this place but it's beginning to make me not want to come here due to how he treats others. I have kept my mouth closed for the experience of other customers in the building. However, your staff don't deserve this type of treatment and I will be standing up for them the next time this happens in front of me. I've kept my mouth shut long enough.”

“We found Eden Abbey after looking into event spaces in our area, which we had a great experience with when we went with their private room, but will definitely be back time and time again for their amazing food and drink menu and family friendly vibes. “We went to the Fiests Grande restaurant today (2-1-25). Somebody told the manager that my husband was stealing a cup that was on another table. My husband saw the cup and was showing me how cool it was (we are seniors and if my husband liked a cup that he saw he would have asked our server if the restaurant sold them, we do not have to steal. Nor were we dressed poorly.) So, the manager came over to us, and demanded to look in my husband's bag. I felt so bad for my husband! The look on his face! He was mortified! She did not find a cup, because my husband did not take anything. She embarrassed my husband and me in front of everyone. I approched the manager and told her she was out of line and she told me she had to protect her customers...well, my husband and I were also her customers, she didn't protect us from public humiliation! She also told me " I am Mexican, I know how it feels. I don't know what she meant by that. We will never visit that restaurant again, and probably won't go to Mt. Dora again either! Needless to say, our beautiful day was ruined.”

“THE 4th GREAT CATERED EVENT FROM OAKWOOD WITH ERIC VILLAGERS RUN don't walk past the other Oakwood Smokehouse restaurants near you! There is a difference and it's the General Manager and Catering Guru Eric Eyerly! You will have to drive 20 mins. further BUT you will be seated immediately and they do not run out of ribs etc. Their servers are kind and efficient and the food is outstanding. CATERING for 10 or 200?? Having worked with Eric for 10 years you will not have better food at a better price, or happier diners. They go way above and beyond to deliver a great experience. Thanks Eric and Oakwood you make us look good!”
