Having made a living on tips pretty much 2/3 of my working career I understand the plight of hourly wages. That being said I never ever asked a customer to tip.I'm pretty sure they don't get paid $2.13 an hour like I did. I use to drink Starbucks 2-3 times a day back when my drink was $3.75. Now I'm not ancient. This was like 5 years ago.When the Florida voters wanted a $15 dollar minimum wage; actions have consequences. Now my drink is $6 bucks. First you can't even walk in which was already a negative. Starbucks is know for their cool and laid back atmosphere. The wifi and music of a real coffee house. Nope this was a drive thru only. The cashier was excellent but the drink was not. It tasted so weak. No chocolate or the essence of it. It didn't even taste as if coffee was in it. Asked for two additional pumps and it ended up in the trash. The coffee at my hotel room was better then here.
