Thought a family owned, local business would do better. Should have went with the reviews and first hand experience with this place. It lives up to every bad review across the board. Been better to just roll my window down and let the money fly. Pork chops look like a big piece of salt pork. I can’t stress enough the lack of communication from them. Lesson learned. My gramps always said “ a man is only worth his word” ! We got your WORD, Combee Meats.
I had my senior year steer from Polk County Youth Fair processed by these people. Little did I know they didnt prepare my hide or meat properly AT ALL. When you dont salt a hide right off of the calf it creates problems for tannery quality. We have a guy that has done hides for years and knows what we are doingg when prepping for tannery. When I went to get my hide after tanning it had slipped EVERYWHERE due to bacteria killing skin folicuals and had butcher cuts (HOLES) all in...read full review
As always they did a great job. Through the decades they have been our butcher and would never take a steer anywhere else.
