“Don't you just love the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning? I'm not a frequent coffee drinker, but when I do get the taste for a hot cup of Joe, I'm very picky on where I get it from.

Located in the Pompano Citi Centre, Foxtail Coffee offers various brewed coffee or tea made hot or cold. There's also bakery items, cold beverages, quick bite sandwiches, and ice cream. Prices are reasonable. There's adequate seating indoors to chill in its serene ambiance. The female employee behind the counter was pleasant...it being my first time in this establishment, I took my time to look at the menu and make my decision. I haven't had cafe con leche in a long time so I decided to get that. Next I ordered a egg, ham, and cheese croissant and a slice of banana bread as well.

Having some time to kill, I took a seat at an available table while my order was being prepared. Here are my thoughts:

* The cafe con leche was delicious. Not too strong and lightly sweet. Regular size is just the right amount as I do not drink a lot of coffee.

* The egg, ham, and cheese croissant was yummy. The croissant was lightly toasted enough to melt the Gouda cheese a bit for a ooey gooey taste.

* I declined the option to have the banana bread slice heated...in my opinion, it was good as is. A nice moist thick slice topped with walnut pieces.

This was definitely a nice and fulfilling way to start a beautiful morning.“

“Just had our first experience at Peak 9. Honestly one of the best cups of coffee I have had in a long time. The crepes are made as you wait and are delicious! Place is owned by two brothers who really care about the business. It’s a bit off the beaten track for tourists but is close enough to Lauderdale by the Sea for a good walk with the rewards of an excellent cup of coffee. (On Commercial Blvd just past Bayview on the South side).“

“This is my favorite grab n go coffee shop. The drive thru can get long during the AM rush. They have so many flavors to choose from. The staff are always friendly. Their app makes paying & tipping a breeze. Their rewards program is also great. They always have a special offer going on like $3 24oz lattes (sign up for updates). At the drive thru, you speak with a staff member not a speaker machine.

My favorites are the cold brew with a cloud foam top, Perfect Cloud Latte, and a bacon & gouda sandwich.“

“It was a lovely first time visit. I am in the neighborhood and walk by it often, but this was the first time to actually go in. I would LOVE to give it five stars and it was ALMOST there. I see people commenting on how good the pastries were. I am not a sweet person ordinarily, I like savory things. I ordered the chicken empanadas: MISTAKE. Now, I love empanadas. I have had them from Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and Ecuador. Sometimes they are spicy and sometimes a bit sweet (with onions and raisins) I like them all. This empanada was really bad. I am not joking. I cannot remember having a bad empanada. What as wrong: the dough was SO THICK. If you ever eat a real empanada, the dough is kind of thin and the filling full. This was all dough and so so thick that it was gummy and just all dough. The filling was meager and dry. Instead of juicy it was dried out chicken with no flavoring or sauce, just a slight taste of curry. The entire empanada was left on the plate after one bite. I love this adorable neighborhood place and I will be back. I am really not an injustice collector. I really wanted to be able to say five stars, instead of four or four and a half. As I said the atmosphere, service and coffee were top rate, but whoever made those empanadas should really find out how to make them. I will trust the other people who posted reviews and order one of the pastries next time. Sorry, but I really loved the time I spent here, but disappointed that the whole empanada was left on the plate. I am sure the pastries are a lot better.“
