“The moment we walked in we were greeted with the most wonderful greeting by Tan. He was attentive, joyful, welcoming and showed so much excitement for our arrival just as if we were family coming to visit. Our waitress Mimi treated us just the same. Her service made us feel so comfy and welcome and she was also very attentive. When she introduced herself she even asked us for our names. Such a nice personal touch! The sushi rolls we ordered were absolutely delicious and fresh and the drinks were fantastic. The restaurant ambiance was bright, clean and spacious. And to top it off as we were walking toward the door to leave standing there was Mimi and Tan sending us off with their smiles and hugs. Tan, you are such a bright, joyful light! “Summer Wood Cafe a new place in town we didn’t know existed for the past year. It was clean and welcoming. We ordered Lychee Lemon Tea, Cake Cream bubble tea, and Iced Thai tea and all agreed it was a thumbs up. We also ordered Dumplings as appetizers and later the Double Dragon Tempura Roll, Summer Sky Lobster Roll and Tempura J B Roll, and Hibachi Chicken Fried Rice and all of it was delicious! Not only was the staff super friendly but they even came out with birthday music in English, Cantonese, Spanish and French and even ice cream for our son, without us even asking. It is a little pricey but the food you get is great! Our servers were so attentive and kind, they were the best. Our guacamole dip was phenomenal, the truffle fried rice was a very good option too, and the dragon roll was tasty but not as filling as I hoped. For $15 maki rolls, I’d go all-in and get the Volcano roll. We got the matcha cheesecake that I will spend the rest of my life fantasizing about that dessert.“

“The sushi/ sashimi is the freshest and tastiest I’ve had in the area BUT- my only complaint and this might be a personal preference thing - the rolls are HUGE. like overly bulky and big, and they are very loose and sloppy. Like the rolls fall apart when you pick them up. They need to be rolled much smaller and much tighter. One roll I had to eat in almost 3 bites per piece. You def cannot pop one piece in your mouth. I also thought - and again this might be personal preference- but the sashimi pieces were soooooo thick. Like the salmon and tuna sashimi looked liked small square filets I could cook on a pan. It was almost 1 inch thick. I just like my sashimi thinner I guess?

Steak teriyaki veggies, rice, salad, some tempura and sashimi what a deal. We also had a viva las vegas roll, chili yellowtail and adult roll. The sushi was fresh and had a great array of flavor. I have a thing with restaurants that will have specials posted on the wall or written on a board , it lets me know they're growing as restaurant and open to ideas or willing to try new things, and that is one of the first things you'll see when you walk in. They'll have them posted on the wall where you can see. They also have a lot of pictures on the wall to show you what they're menu items look like. I love that everything on the menu isn't over priced! Great for it's quality of the food and quantity. The atmosphere kind of takes me back to a NY/NJ Sushi spot and you just know that if it looked like this, the food was gonna be great. They served all the popular rolls and they do have rice dishes like katsu and they have takoyaki which is something we are always ordering.
