“Some of my favorite places to eat are restaurants that transitioned from food trucks as is the case with BMC Smash Burgers. BMC Smash Burgers began in 2021 as a popular food truck, Eat BMC operated by Jason "Jay Rok" Smith. In August of this year the brick-and-mortar location of BMC Smashburger opened on Dixie Highway in Oakland Park. Smith has taken smash burgers, thin beef patties cooked on a super-hot griddle to a new level of deliciousness. The burger is pressed with a spatula, to increase browning and crispy edges for maximum flavor. The smash burger technique is said to have been popularized by the Smashburger chain founded in Denver in 2007.

I finally got the chance to try BMC Smash Burgers after visiting the Small Biz Saturday Local Makers Market that was being held across the tracks. Parking for the restaurant is limited but I found a strip of free spaces across the street. The inside is no frills with a few tables and two more out front. You order at the counter and they brought my food out to me when it was ready. While I waited for my meal I was able to watch cooking in the open kitchen.

The menu features the smash burgers that made them famous but it also has a patty melt, hot dogs, tots, and fries. Dessert is a fresh baked cookie. You can't go wrong with the BMC Smash, a house blend patty of chuck-brisket-short rib blend , grilled onions, American cheese, BMC sauce, and house pickles, or take it up a notch with a Spicy BMC Smash, which start with the classic BMC Smash Burger and adds pepper jack cheese and house-pickled jalapeños.

I ordered the single BMC burger with fries and I was not disappointed. The flavor packed burger had crispy, lacy edges while still remaining juicy in the middle. The house made pickles are chef's kiss and the BMC signature sauce was the perfect topping for the burger while also making an excellent dipping sauce for the fries. It is easy to see why so many lists have named BMC smash burgers as the best in Broward.“

“I think that Smash House is an amazing place. My husband happened upon it when he was at Wynn Dixie doing his weekly meat shopping. The owner gave him an intro deal (that was not even the great part) but it was 100 dollars for 24 patties and all of the fixin's including gluten free rolls! My daughter and I are gfcf so that was incredible. The flavors blended. The carmalized onions the sweet pickles and the red onions were so good together but to top it off there was cheese and the bun toasted was the best ever. This place needs more customers! pack it in because you won't be sorry“

“The service was fantastic with options to either order with a person or at a kiosk if Mooyah. The cashier was helpful in assisting me with different options for food. I liked the option to build my own and ordered a double patty with bacon and avocado. They have music playing (not too loud and good music choice), a t.v. playing sports and a relaxed clean ambiance.

As for the food: the shake is PERFECT! Oreo cookie and peanut butter cups inside hit the spot! The ice cream base they use has a soft-serve creaminess that’s wonderful. The burger hit the spot. The bun has a brioche-like consistency which is the affection and tenderness my longing taste buds need in this cold, ruthless, punishing existence we call life. Compliment this decadence with sweet potato fries and ketchup and my soul now hibernates in a cacoon of contentment while the weekend provides its gentle caress upon my once-longing gastric juices.

“If you like milkshakes, burgers and craft beers, this is your spot. I do find them to be pricy for what you get, but I do find myself coming back. They have a few veg options and a ton of options for any sort of palate. The inside is funky and fun, good place to come with kids or a large group. I’ve never seen their dining room busy. We came in for happy hour and were happy with the $3 off draft beer and 1/2 off local draft beers. They have a large free parking lot which is hard to find in FLL.

“The food was delicious and reminded us of our time in Boston. We ordered the steak bomb and grilled chicken sandwich. The servings are big and decently priced. They do offer a chicken finger basket for kids. The chicken finger basket is 100% chicken meat and not processed. This is a big win for us. The only thing they don’t have there is fountain drinks.“

“We were a group of 10 people and walked into Perry's Wings 30 minutes before closing on a Saturday evening. The awesome staff at Perry's went over and above and served us some sumptuous wings, oxtail & jollof rice. Mandy the executive Chef & owner went the extra mile and was present and engaged with the customers until closing. I recommend Perry's Wings as a perfect brunch, lunch or dinner restaurant. They have good food and beverages and awesome customer service.“

Myself & my company were in town for a week & we ate here at 3 different occasions & everytime all us were completely blown away at the food. From the presentation, the flavors, to the huge portions it’s a win all across the board.

“Now this Greek fast-self-service diner we liked, have been back twice now. Busy, so that is a good sign, a lot of take out orders.. The food is fresh and pretty good, they have lamb souvlaki, and several daily specials. Pleasant and quick order taking. The cooks seem to take pride in putting out fair sized prortions.
It is a single bay storefront in a plaza, easy parking, but not going there for fine dining but quick good greek/ Mediterranean food. Note they are not open on Sunday.“

“I recently visited 5 Guys and was thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service I received! One young lady in particular stood out, handling multiple customers with ease and efficiency. She took my order, cooked my food to perfection, and served it with a smile.

Her multitasking skills were truly impressive, and her friendly demeanor made the entire experience enjoyable. The food, of course, was delicious - 5 Guys never disappoints!

Kudos to this outstanding team member and the entire 5 Guys staff for a fantastic dining experience. Keep up the great work!

“Took my kids to BurgerFi and we each got a kids’ cheeseburger with fries and a drink and spent under $30 total! The burgers were fresh, the fries were perfectly crispy, and there was a great variety of drink options. Tiffany was so kind and checked in on us, which made the experience even better. “ I’m not able to give five stars because they serve dead animals per the apps rules, but I didn’t want to say that it was the most satisfying meal I had in all of Fort Lauderdale and Miami combined! The black bean burger was my favorite as was the PB shake! The owner really knows what he’s doing. I hope they transition away from vegetable oil in the future as well as get rid of the synthetic fragrance air freshener in the bathroom.“
