“Gators' Crossroads is a true hole in the wall — the diveiest of dive bars, in the best possible way. It sits right on the side of the Tamiami Trail on the western edge of the Everglades near Big Cypress, within stumbling distance of my campsite. Tracy and Brandie behind the bar greet you with a smile and hand you a cold beer or a strong drink — and they'll actually hold a conversation with a stranger, too. It's the kind of place that's only missing sawdust on the floor. A perfect Everglades roadside stop — wouldn't change a thing.“
