According to Jaime, the man sitting next to me at the tables in front of the gas station's ventanita, or walk-up coffee window, it's very common in Miami for such places to offer Cuban hot dishes, sandwiches and coffee including my favorite, the cortadito. While I'm not sure such things make living in South Florida desirable, they sure make passing through a treat.
