Kelly's and Crickets merged into one location, bringing both menus into one bar menu. Is it bar food? Is it comfort food? I say it is comfort in a bar. The ambiance is a sports bar all the way. Sandy is the bartender/server today, and she is absolutely outstanding in her job performance. Sadly, she informed me they pool the tips, as her professionalism garnered her a 58% tip. I asked Sandy for one of their daily specials (Tuesdays is Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans), six wings and one of their Jr. Burgers (medium rare). Sandy placed the order as we continued our anfractuous conversation about everything under the sun. Go, Sports Ball Team! Before too long, our order was up and after snapping a few pictures for y'all, I got to work. Look at that scrumptious lookin' grub! Look at it! First up on my palate was the Tuesday Special. I love me a good meatloaf plate with all the fixins and this one had it in spades. The meatloaf was firm, savory and perfectly done. The gravy was obviously made in the back and not from a packet or can, as the flavoring was superb, complex and akin to the nectar of the Greek Gods. I almost asked for a bucket to go; it was so good. The green beans were great. This was perfection on a plate. Putting down my fork and turning my attention to the wings was difficult, but I was here for a job, not to relish every bite of a delectable meatloaf. I ordered the six wings with a medium spiciness and they were just that—spot on, to be exact. They were cooked correctly and seasoned with enough kick to say a hearty hello to my palate but not enough to make me break out in a sweat. Well done, Line Cook! Alas, I begrudgingly looked toward the last item for review today, the Jr. Burger. As you can clearly see in the picture, there is nothing “Junior” about this model of ground charred Bovine flesh. I was actually shocked at the size and had to do a double-take on the menu. After closer inspection, I discovered that their regular “Famous Kelly Burgers” are 8 oz hand-formed patties, and the Junior was a mere 6 oz. A word of advice, if I may be so bold. Do NOT use condiments on this burger. It is seasoned during formation and cooking and is delicious as is. The Big Boy says, “ Play some pool, shoot the breeze with Sandy and eat lots of tasty burgers, wings, and things (I wager their homemade soup and chili is to die for).”“

“This was a regular Stop for breakfast a couple times a month , until now… there has been changes, one of the main reasons we would go was our Server Tina, we have now heard she has left and because of a co worker… It’s sad that a person that has treated a co worker poorly and has threatened them, should have been let go… not the person on the receiving end of the abuse…. “Today we came in and the host was not the brightest! My elder mother walks with a walker and the host took her down the most narrow path and watched as she hit every chair and then didn't even orfer to help or move them. Of course this instantly upset us all. Then she left the menus on the table and walked away as my mother was still walking up the ramp! We sat down and the waiter came over, Marcus P he was absolutely amazing 👏 listened to my mother as she told him how embarrassing that was for her and how upset she was and he just listened and completely went ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR OUR TABLE. “I’m in this location at least one day a week. The problem that I have with this location is one particular employee in his name is JAIR. I have no other choice but it stop coming to this location and going down to West Haven. I really hate this because this one’s like five minutes from my house this employee does Burger King a disservice. He has absolutely zero customer service skills. It is as if we are troubling him to ask if we can get some ketchup. The list could go on and on just in the past month I have had four bad experiences with this one gentleman the food is always exceptionally great here but they need to lock him in the back cooking and never allow him to interact with customers ever again.“

“We come from Daytona Beach just to eat at El Chico in Melbourne. Delicious food and wonderful staff. Carla & Marcia are long- term gems. El Caballero and sopapillas are a must every time. And don’t forget the carrots/ jalapeños/ onion relish with buttered flour tortillas. Would eat here every day if we lived closer!!“

“Update 7 June 2023 It has been over 9 months since last visit. I wanted to try again. After all I am sure the last cook is gone and things have been improved. I requested the same thing I had 9 months ago. The cook needs to learn how to make scrambled eggs. I received eggs that were cooked flat then chopped into squares. The eggs were cold and tough. The sausages were cold. The hash browns were not crispy but hard on one side and soft on the other. The hash browns were also cold. The only thing that was acceptable was the french toast. Maybe I am expecting too much. This used to be a great place, not anymore. If the owner does not turn this place around. They will end up closing like the Palm Bay Diner. They had great food when the "new" owner opened up. After about four months the cook was changed. I quit going. The new owner made a lot of changes. Did not work. I have a better breakfast going to two different close by locations. I did contact the owner before coming back yesterday. I wanted to see if anything has improved. Annie was my server. Always great. I don't understand why she did not tell the owner or the manager I was unhappy. Maybe neither was there. I may go back in another 9 months to try again. Only if they are still open. I have been a customer when they were IHop. Many years. I have a select wait staff I ask for each trip. All of my trips only one time has the manager talked with me. Monday (Aug 8, 2022) I stopped for breakfast. I requested french toast, two eggs scrambled, bacon, hash browns crispy and coffee. The eggs were super dry and robbery. The hash browns were uncooked inside and dripping in oil. Both were so bad I could not eat. The bacon was over cooked and brittle. The coffee. Apparently they changed to a cheaper brand and added water to serve more customers. The only thing worth eating was the french toast. I told my server what had happened. She said she would talk to the manager. The manager did not come out to talk with me. I thought that was unprofessional. The manger did not offer to comp my meal. He charged me for the coffee and french toast. He charged me over $7.00 for this. If he would have offered to comp the breakfast I would have refused. But he never gave me the chance. If they continue to provide this type of service and this low quality food. They may have to close their doors. Already their hours have been cut again. I will not go back because of the way a loyal customer has been treated. I was never looking for a free meal. I believe (if they continue treating their customers to low quality food) they will be closing their doors before the end of this year. This is my opinion from my experience over the many years as a loyal customer.“

I had my wife looking for a pine float on the menu and she couldn't find it so I got up and got a toothpick. Then she got to enjoy her first pine float . We spoke with Mrs. Jane who works here and has been at many of the friendly's locations. She is one of the nicest lady's we spoke to all day . And one other thing this place is 1000 time's better than steak & shake . They don't have waitresses and you have to order your food from some stupid kiosk machines. So in all it's a two thumbs up for friendly's . From my Wife and I . Happy wife happy life . Anyway they have amazing deserts to.“

Tonight, my husband and I grabbed a quick bite and ate in the dining room. It’s been ages since we had been inside a Steak ‘n Shake…the nostalgia was still there, but modernized with the new ordering kiosks. It was also incredibly clean and the team were working hard to keep it that way. Our double steak burgers (no buns) were cooked perfectly, vegetables were fresh and plentiful, and the fries were on point again. So happy to see that Steak ‘n Shake is innovating and stepping up their game! We’ll definitely be back!“

Not only are the drinks spot on every time, but Kalei brings such great energy, genuine conversation, and attention to detail that you instantly feel like a regular. Our food came fast, it was Hot & Delicious!! Why anyone would waste their time and $$ at Cracker Barrel, etc= blows my mind!! KEEP JODY as an asset to this perfect IHOP!! Kudos!! 🙌😋
