I’ve heard Miami Slice called the best pizza in Miami enough times that I finally figured I should go see what all the excitement was about.
Let’s start with the good. The Proper Pepperoni with All Kicks is delicious. No argument there. The pepperoni is excellent, the hot honey works, and the stracciatella, basil and Parmesan bring everything together really well. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would absolutely eat it again.
Then I remembered it was $14.

Miami Slice Coconut Grove is a popular pizza spot in Coconut Grove known for its outstanding pizza and quality ingredients. The Proper Pepperoni with All Kicks is delicious, with excellent pepperoni, hot honey, stracciatella, basil and Parmesan. The Margherita is exquisite, topped with so much grated cheese. The pepperoni pizza is very good, and the mozzarella is the best part. The carpaccio is delicious and perfect for sharing, and the grilled cabbage is a good starter. The Caesar salad is not a favorite, and the pistachio pie is too pistachio heavy. The atmosphere is nice and lively, and the space is small with walk-in-only seating. Seating is limited, so expect a wait of 20 minutes to over an hour. Sitting at the counter is enjoyable, as the team prepares and finishes the pizzas right in front. The service is cheerful, attentive, excellent and friendly. The wine selection is good, but pricing is high, with small wine glasses around $12-$14 each. Two slices per person is just right. Prices are a bit overpriced, and they do not accept cash. The pizzas are made in advance, placed on racks, and reheated in a small oven, which gives the bottom a nice crispness. The crust is crisp with a good undercarriage and holds the toppings well. Overall, a very enjoyable experience with outstanding pizza, quality ingredients, and a fun atmosphere.
