The warm, Old-Florida feel, bright and cheery decor (those table tops!) and genuinely caring wait staff makes this our go-to Breakfast stop. The food is outstanding and plentiful, no skimping on ingredients here (just check out their omlettes!) On crazy busy mornings you may have to wait a little longer, but NOT the "25 minutes" as posted by another reviewer. The owner - and for that matter, every staff member - goes out of their way to make your meal as delightful as you expected. “Absolutely the BEST ice cream around. As a family we drive an hour nearly every week to eat Jake's ice cream...YES, it's that good! Incredibly kind owner and staff as well, this place is a must visit if in the Sarasota area (and beyond!) Once you've tasted Jake's ice cream it's hard to ever eat anything else, he's raising the standards for homemade ice cream with every flavor - although we all have our favorites we've never tried one we didn't like!! (My personal favorite is Salty Turtle)“

“My husband works in Gulf Gate, just a few storefronts down from Clever Cup, and we have been getting coffee from here since they have opened. I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad experience and the coffee and baked goods are always delicious! The baristas are amazing and although we probably shouldn't have favorites, I simply adore Veronika and Karissa. The two of them are always ready with a smile, a cheerful, 'Good Morning!' and even if I've had an icky start to my day, the two of them are always able to brighten my mood and I wind up walking out with delicious coffee and a smile. I complained to the hostess who took off our coffees. The waitress apologized for serving the other couple first. She didn't understand that we had waited an additional 20 minutes to PLACE our order. I never complain, I've been wait staff. The wait staff there has always been fabulous until today. She is clueless.“

Then a large sized garden salad which was good, then the capellini with maranara sauce and sausage and all wonderful!! “This place gets absolutely swamped some days, especially with online pickups, and these girls deal with some super unreasonable people harassing them over smoothies. They’re great at communicating with each other and getting orders out in a timely manner. Even with a few ladies upset that a single smoothie was finished before their 4, the girls keep smiling and apologizing all while continuing to prep nonstop! Brunette and Blonde working Wednesday 12/29 around noon, kudos!“
