“It is a rare occurrence when a dining experience transcends the process of “consuming food”. The French Press special buffet on 12/24/2023 was one of these times. On this day a group of six of us were treated to superbly prepared and served food that made a sweet memory of Christmas 2023 for us all. The lobster Benedict was amazing with perfectly prepared poached eggs and generous mounts of lobster. The chorizo mini-egg burritos were perfectly spiced. Traditional offerings of bacon, scrambled eggs, lightly seasoned sausage gravy, along with orange zest infused waffles provided choices to satisfy any taste. There were bagels and lochs, fresh fruit, sliced meats/cheeses and fresh tossed salad with a variety of fruits and nuts added. On the “sweet” side of the buffet we relished a finely baked choice of bite-size chocolate croissants, cinnamon swirl cakes and raspberry-filled beignets, all made on-site by the resident pastry chef. To top this all off the French Press presented us with a choice of world-renowned Norman Love chocolates and orange-cranberry mimosas. The service was warm and helpful which is why we will be back soon to make another dining “memory” at the French Press!“

Although you are not consuming the display cookies, I found the presentation of the cookies just sitting on a long table with labels, to be very low effort. For $5 a cookie, I would expect them to be displayed in a more appealing manner. Since it was our first time, we purchased a big box and tried every flavor. The store itself is small as you aren't meant to eat your cake there - it's a "decide what you want and take it home" kind of place since Bundt cakes are meant to be added to a party. However, they do sell "mini bundtlets", which are single person size versions of the kind you get for a large group. Think of cupcakes versus sheet cake. There is definitely an array of decisions to be made from the display case. With a menu showing other options, the staff is ready and willing to answer questions. The flavors of the cakes range from red velvet to lemon to surprises in between. The sizes also range from individual size to party size and they aren't cheap. We are rewards members so a nice thing is the occasional BOGO sale and birthday reward (not that we wouldn't buy one when they're not on sale, but it is a good perk since the prices start around $6 a baby (full cakes can start around $30). We do like to go in and browse, pick up a sweet dessert every so often, plus, we've told plenty of people about this place. It's an alternative to the grocery store stuff any day, but we also don't make it a habit to travel out to this location just for something different. It's worth the every so often or surprise from someone if you're a dessert / cake person.“

“I went here with my daughter for breakfast on Wednesday morning and I was very impressed with the restaurant. The food was delicious, I got the brioche French toast platter and my daughter got the California avocado bene. Both of us were very pleased with our meals and our server, Terry, was amazing!!!!
