“Daddy Dees Ice cream 6-8-24 We went to Daddy Dees for some ice cream. It’s a small place with tables inside and out. Even though the place is small it’s clean and neat with trains running overhead of you. The walls are lines with hats from businesses all over this area. They have such a large selection and it’s all in the case right in front of you so you can see what you’re going to order. You stand in front of the ice cream cases to order. Lots of times there are lines, but they move fast. They have just about anything you want from 1, 2 or 3 scoops cones to banana splits. They have regular, waffle, to sprinkle cones and bowls. You name it when it comes to ice cream, they have it. I have always liked Daddy Dees ice cream. It’s not soft, it’s a hard ice cream with lots of flavor. “Off on an adventure to go bowling but the place was booked up. To appease the kids during the wait, we headed over to Spaghy Gelato waited for our friends to arrive, got all 5 kids out of the car to open the door and find it was locked! Strike two of the day! As our heads hung low a woman drove up letting us know she was the owner and they didn’t open until 3. I looked at my watch and it was almost 2:30. The woman offers to let us in anyways and says she can’t do the spaghetti but that she could scoop us ice cream! 🥳 We said “no problem, that’s great,” and thanked her! She proceeds to rush inside offers and lets each kid try multiple samples until they were sure of what they wanted. Then she says she can do the spaghetti for us but it may take awhile and we said that’s no problem! She took each child’s order and was patient when they were indecisive. Everyone got their order and was happily digging in when she comes out and offers each child the option to choose a toy from the little bins which was beyond kind! Then as she is doing this, 2-3 groups of people came in asking if they were open and she said she wasn’t, but since she already helped us, then she would help them too! This woman went well above and beyond with kindness and patience and completely made our kids (and our) day! We will be back for sure and encourage everyone to try it! People and places like this deserve to be shouted from the rooftops 😉 Enjoy!“
