I can't really compare because this was my first visit, but I can say that since they renovated/remodeled and reopened, the restaurant is very clean and pleasant. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table, so not truly a traditional sit down restaurant. The usual BBQ fare. Wow - HUGE improvement! It had been ages since my last visit and I vowed to never return; sticky tables, terrible service and subpar food...it was nothing like I had remembered from my youth. For some reason I stopped in to get some brisket spur of the moment and found that not only had the place been sold, fully rehabbed and the menu updated (all HUGE improvements) but the prices were competitive, service steller and brisket delicious. I have eaten at Fat Boys since they opened in the 1970's. Best BBQ in town. I would love to get a glimpse of their cole slaw recipe. It is my favorite, always ordered that and their BBQ sauce for our families gatherings.
