“We had another lovely lunch at Irie Diner in Orange Park yesterday. It is the best Caribbean food we have eaten in the Jacksonville area. The atmosphere is laid-back and relaxing, just like the islands. I had jerk chicken, rice and beans and callaloo. It was delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. My husband had jerk pork tenderloin, cabbage, and rice, all of which he thoroughly enjoyed. We also shared a side of fried sweet plantains, my favorite. Our server, whose name from the receipt was Soul G. was excellent...sweet and attentive, but not over-bearing. I cannot say enough about this restaurant and always wonder why there is not a line out the door. If you haven't eaten there, YOU NEED TO TRY IT! Their menu has good variety. In the past I've had their curry and brown stew. They never disappoint.“
“Price and the quality of the foods are the best in the city. It's the best Google search ever. Young and vibrant business. Oxtail and jerk chicken are the best. The flattened plantain and brown rice tasted juicy. You have to patronize this business before you can believe me. Shalom ? ?“
“First time at this location . Met the owner , she was very wonderful and pleasent to have a conversation with. I had for lunch the white rice, beans and legume . it was fantastic. i enjoyed my time there and my conversation with the owner, i will be back again at this location.“
“Omg the food was sooo delicious!! I purchased the curry chicken and my only complaint was I purchased a small plate and had to share it with kids that would not let me eat in peace!! It’s been about a month or so since I first went and I didn’t leave a review but now I have to leave a review because I’m on the way back there for more!!“
“We came here for a late lunch a few weeks ago and thought the food was great. The service was a bit slow in the beginning. It was “Seat Yourself” seating and took a while for someone to come over and acknowledge us and ask what we want to drink. Everything was fine after that. We’ll be back!“
“Delicious! I ordered 2 empanadas and an order of jerk pork, with rice and beans and plantains for my wife and I. Everything was super favorful. Definitely will return.Only downside was that they werent open when I arrived. Their hours said 11a-8p, and when I arrived at 1140, there was a sign on the door that they were not opening until Noon that day, so I had to use most of my lunch break, just waiting 20 minutes for them to open. Dont know how often that happens, though. Other than that the food was out in about 10 minutes and it fantastic.“
“My experience having lunch at MAD O Caribbean was comforting and amazing. Chef Iris’s smile was so inviting! I ordered the Ackee & Salt-fish w a side of fried okra and I couldn’t be happier. My taste buds threw a party. I enjoyed the art and colors I saw as I sat after placing my order. Throughout the establishment the vibrance provided me a calm and homey feel. The smell is absolutely mouthwatering upon entering these doors. Chef Irie single handedly provided the best service one could hope to receive while enjoying a meal worth the wait.“
“Me and my girlfriend went here on a Friday night and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The food was tasty, The portions were big , the live music was great, the waitress Jeissy/Heissy did a great job attending to us. We felt very looked after. I didn’t like the sauce on one of my meals because something about it was really bothering my mouth and the owner, Cesar, had the cook make me something more palatable and made sure that I got taken care of and was very kind and professional.Inside, the restaurant has a nice layout. Outside, there is seating and some lighting. The beef empanadillas were amazing. The natural juices were good too, the lemonade was good. The bistec encebollado was delicious! We will be returning. This is a great restaurant to go to on on a Friday or weekend and eat some good food, hear some good music and enjoy the atmosphere.Esto es un buena restaurante! Buen Gente y Buen Comida!“
“I just wanted to give these guys a great review i went up to the food truck yesterday and ordered oxtails a little after they opened they told me the oxtails wasn’t gonna be ready for 20 minutes so i went ahead and put my order in came back to see if my order was ready it was not and it would be another 20 minutes if you guys know oxtails take a long time to cook and the guys wasn’t going to give me un done meat so the guys went above and beyond to accommodate me the best way possible i went ahead and got the jerk ribs boy they were delicious and sure enough i looked in my plate and what’s in there them oxtails these guys don’t miss a beat everything was fresh oh i forgot the mention the rasta pasta oh boy that’s all i’m going to say i highly recommend these guys can throw down!!!!!!“
“This has been the first place in Jacksonville that caters Puerto Rican food at its best. The day I went in they had a fund raiser outside and due to that I think the waitress was distracted and waited a bit but other than that the place is great“
“Last weekend while visiting Mt dad and brother both agreed that they wanted some ox tails. Being that I'm need to this side of town I googled Jamaican f food and stumbled upon STARS. Let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. I called in the order. The service was great. We arrived and the food wasn't ready but they were busy. Again the customer service was very good. Got home and they both devoured all of their food. They even wanted more to take back to SC with them. I had the jerk chicken which was phenomenal. The beef Pattie's were fresh and just coming out right after we arrived. My brother ordered one and was instantly in heaven. I will definitely be adding them to my list of restaurants!“
“I had the oxtail fried rice and Polly cocktail. Noelle was our waitress and she was very friendly and the service was awesome. She was super funny and went over and beyond to make sure our party enjoyed our meals. I will definitely come again !“
“I ordered Ackee and salt fish with fried dumplings as well as the escovitch fish dinner for Good Friday. Everything was delicious. I come often for the brown stewed chicken, patties, jerk chicken, and soup on Saturday. It is just a take out spot but they play Jamaican music as you wait and believe me the food is worth the wait.“
